  1. be respect of others religion. research before doing idea of photos. some r so so bad and stupid photo for Myanmar people.

    1. I am not the author of this editorial. (The photographer is Tim Walker, one of the most known photographer of the world)
I chose this editorial as art because it’s very beautiful and inspiring.
I want to note, that I was in beautiful Myanmar (this year), and I saw a lot of fantastic places and things. I think, that the editorial was done in a good way, without having a bad aim on your incredible country- even, W Magazine which publicised this shoot, wrote a very colourful and strong introduction about Myanmar.
      Best Regards.

      1. Hey Edwardkan,

Good to hear your explanation. However You said “you chose this editorial as art because it’s very beautiful and inspiring”.

That why you also have a responsibility to report any responsible person, even Tim Walker or whoever. Everybody can create art with any direction but must clean those photos are directly or Indirectly insulting to other’s respectful person or religion.

Just simple report to world famous photographer, Tim Walker, those photos are good to see for you but for other country and group of people, really full of sadness, angry and disappointed photos what we ever seen online.

Beautiful and inspiring shouldn’t mean (equal to) insulting.

I hope you understand, what is our feeling and why we report to you. Don’t make your beautiful website with fully of unhappiness.

        Best Regards,
        Kyaw

      2. it is too obvious that your magazine is insulting to Buddhism and Myanmar. look at your model who looks like an absolutely insane ,standing infront of the pagodas with no respect to Buddhism. Just Go to hell W magazine.

  2. Wish yr god can bless and protect you all from yr sins of disrespect to the religion of holy and peace, in yr crazily attractive fashion!!!

  3. Dear Sir/Mdm,

People in Myanmar are very disturbed and felt insulted on the display of photos which are in disrespectful to the religion. Buddhist monks are highly respected in the country. Even Myanmar people dare not to impose as a monk. Models posing as Buddhist monks and nuns are a direct insult to the culture and religion of our country.

We urge you to remove the photos immediately.

    Regards,
    A concerned Myanmar citizen

  4. We,myanmar people believe that women posing like that at our pagoda shows rudeness and disrespectfulness to buddha..,that really insult our buddhists! So…Tim Walker or whoever~plz remove this photo

  5. This is neither beautiful nor inspiring. What is an art if it offends a particular group of people, their culture and their religion? These photos are simply distasteful, insensitive and absurd. It’s fine with me if you call this art because you have your own freedom of opinion. But I’d just like to voice out here that, despite the photographer’s could-have-been a “good” intention, the photos don’t make us feel proud or happy, but rather offended and disrespected.

  6. hey editor or whatever,
your photos are not a good way to introduce Myanmar to the others. look at your model wearing like monks and nuns in myanmar, posing like a fool. i think you should know that it is obvious insulting to buddhism and myanmar with insane photographer using insane-faced model. just learn the culture of the nation b4 you make idiot things.ok?

  7. One of the most known photographer of the world, Tim Walker took the rude photos and W Magazine published that. You want cover with the title of Fashion. But Photos show what they really want to mean. If you said it just a fashion that must be unpleasant joke. Even you don’t know how to respect, should not insult to others culture , tradition and religious . don’t forget that “All the things you do, come back to you.”

  8. I can’t refuse that these are very fierce photos. However, the issue here is respect. People need to respect to someone’s religion, we have to respect other people faith and belief as a human being. When lady gaga swallows rosary, Catholic people think that this is offensive. When this model wears monk clothes and applies holy gold that we only offer to Buddha image and pagoda in her feet and face, as Buddhism, we feel very offensive and inappropriate. We feel very disrespectful. As not being Christian, we can’t do disrespectful things to Jesus. We have to give respect. Like other people,we respect our religion and our holy things. We are not making drama and overwhelming here, in our opinions, the photos look very disrespectful to our religion. You all are very welcome to our Golden Land of Myanmar. You can create art, can inspire our cultures and can do as you wish except from making disrespectful things to our culture, religion and our belief, please.

  9. How come it’s only about art after insulting other country’s culture and religion. I guess the world famous so-called Tim walker or whtever has run out of ideas. If he is so famous should do some research before he did his art.Yes,Myanmar is a very beautiful country and you can present its beauty in many artistic ways not such disgusting pictures. Would you still say it’s artistic and inspiring if someone shoots the girl lying on the cross.

  10. If you want to show Fashion and Art, you must think the right way to show it. This is disrespectful to our religion and you shot the photos like you never cares! Monks and nuns are highly respected in our religion and that model just shot the photos that shows dis-respectfulness on her face. I know you wants to show our religion and culture but you’ve shown it the wrong way. These photos look like they’re insulting and making fun of our religion.

Would love to hear what you think!
