The Men We Need

Menswear campaigns are taking an interesting spin this season, with two brands having two extraordinary men as their faces. First is Prada, where Willy Vanderperre photographs the one and only Pedro Almodóvar. In the so-called ‘Almodóvariano’ world, the director’s incredible artistic impact collides and overlaps with that of  Miuccia Prada, highlighting their shared creative obsessions. Shown uncharacteristically centre-stage, Almodóvar is framed in a series of widescreen shots amongst the idealised interior that formed the backdrop to Prada’s autumn-winter 2017 shows.

The latter brand, which decided to cast an intriguing chatacter, is Dior Homme. With help of David Sims’ lens, Dave Gahan fittingly reflects Kris Van Assche’s love for the 80’s. Depeche Mode frontman stars in a moody scenario along  Lucas Hedges (Manchester by The Sea actor), Dylan Roques and Christophe T Kint (models). A wholeheartdely wow! for Prada and Dior this time around.
