The Master: Azzedine Alaia
The System Magazine is getting more juicy and better with every page that is spread in the internet! After a enchanting interview with Nicolas Ghesquiere and beautiful editorial of his muses wearing best look of Balenciaga from archives, now we have the topic about the master of body dresses and a friend of every women- Azzedine Alaia. This editorial with few beautiful photographs of Andrea Diaconu wearing classical Alaia pieces, is not only about Alaia in his person, but about his friends that write about him only good words! I liked Naomi’s Campbell quote that is above the text! Now enjoy this magnificient moment of viewing the photos and… seeing the famous “Alaia Beige” everywhere!
Stella, Model of Scots
Is she a Mary Stuarts, Queen of Scots, but in a fashion world? Oh yes. This androgeny, aristocrat top model from Scotland (her grandfather was 11th Duke of Devonshire, obviously) that had at the beginning everything in ass, and wanted to be model, now is a happy mum, that lives in beautiful Berwickshire castle. For her every moment away from Chanel world is like the biggest miracle, and in this great editorial, she photographed by her (not Mario Testino) friend, Bay Garnett! She do look really happy in this shoot!
McMenamy’s: 1993 VS. 2013
Lily McMenamy (the topless model at Marc Jacobs) is my new obsession. She is the model daughter of Kristen McMenamy, known for ugly beauty she presents. We can’t say that Lily is beautiful, but she is a bit ugly but still she is… Beautiful! That’s so paradoxal! What else, at I-D magazine, few years ago (1993) Kristen was there on cover and now… The younger generation. Both have even the same face mimic. Lily McMenamy poses herself as she is, in her own way, sitting in the Givenchy skirt and US flag bra. I am already hunting for the new issue with LILY on cover!
Tisci and Friends
I think Riccardo Tisci really got a rotweiller in his ass (in a good way of course)! Tisci is the creative director of Givenchy and is one of the most influencial menswear and womenswear designer from Paris. He is known for prints (Rottweiler, flowers, Madonna, Jesus, etc.) and street inspired clothing. And it’s not the end. He had his two whole interviews and editorials in Self Service and GQ (the one I’m showing is from Self Service), will design ballerina costumes for Bolero in one of the most known Parisian opera, makes friends with Kanye West and Jay-Z and if like it wasn’t enough, he created amazing scene costumes for Rihanna’s Diamond Tour. Crazy, isn’t it?
In the Self Service editorial Tisci is in his Atelier Givenchy “house” in Paris (it’s on Avenue George V, the building is next to Balenciaga boutique) siting on black sofa with his favourite model Joan Smalls and his friends from the runways. Of course every one wears pre-fall 2013 collection. And here I’ve got some backsatge pics from recent Givenchy show- full of grunge, romantic vibes, prints and Givenchy spirit. I personally loved the collection! It is the real Parisienne chic!
