Copenhagen Fashion Week is one of the most important fashion weeks of the Scandinavia – here, the most important Scandi designers present their collections and present fresh trends. During the SS16 season, we’ve spotted a lot of great outings, new faces and truly amazing clothes. But mostly, summer seen by Danes is focused on the 90’s – a laid back approach was in the air, making us forget about the usual, super strict and minimalistic style of Copenhagen. Fluffy furs, over-sized silhouettes and bold colours felt refreshing.
Freya Dalsjø – Summer 2016 for Freya meant transparency and sex-appeal, all-out femininity. Frivolous skirts and femme-fatale mesh shirts were the stand-out pieces.
Mark Kenly Domino Tan – the vision of Mark was clear – cosmic odyssey for lady-like characters. Metallic textiles, innovative textures and polished leather – all of that revisited in statuesque dresses and midi-skirts. Also, we spotted those out-of-this-world fur earrings and extra-vagant, green make-up!
By Malene Birger -Christina Exsteen’s presented a very relaxed collection, introducing over-sized beach shirts and Celine-like head-to-toe knitwear.
Ganni – this label is always a favourite thanks to it feminine-cool mood. The SS16 collection was entitled Optimism and the energy was totally positive thanks to the vibrant prints and radiant colour of yellow, which was the head-topic of the collection. Also, the 90’s West Coast surfer style was reflected through laid-back pantalons, breezy dresses and flesh exposure.
Bruuns Bazaar – a great use of satin and silk was expressed with slip-dresses and mini-skirts at Bruuns Bazaar, one of the oldest fashion labels from Copenhagen. The collection was light and peach-shaded, with casual takes on summer must-haves.
