Concept 21 Store

DSC01316

Concept 21 Store is more than an ordinary fashion boutique. Here, fashion fuses with cosmetics, perfumes, design and art. Located in the heart of Poznan, Concent 21 is the first place in Poland where the Milan-based label, No21, found it’s place; the sensual, poetical frgrances of niche-perfume brand, Meo Fusciuni have already enchanted the city’s most demanding nose. Ecological beauty products by ILA are ready to revitalise the skin of women which want to feel always beautiful and on the go! At Concept 21, arworks of local Polish artists and craftsmen are present, too. The interior is modern, but with many vintage, cozy details. As for the opening, Concept 21 feels very into the spring-time with a pop-up space by Kwiaty i Miut. I would love to hear what you think about our “baby”!

Frip

DSC01167

Frip is the most open-minded concept store in Milan – it looks forward to designers which are rather fresh in the industry. Marques Almeida from London and their denim treasures; BACK from Scandinavia; Acne Studios and their über cool t-shirts. Of course, as in every serious concept store, you can find niche magazines, too, strongly connected to innovative fashion and individual point of view. Located in the old city district of Naviglio, Frip is a fresh breath of air in the crowd of big, pricey boys.

Aspesi Store in Milan

DSC01060

Aspesi store in Milan is one of these spectacular places, that you want to visit as often as it’s possible. The ground-breaking contrast of marble columns and plastic box tables makes the store not only attractive, but also an experience. Although the clothes by Aspesi always seemed to be a bit boring for, the interior makes you forget about the “every wardrobe’s basics” – ethnic colours, bold cushions exuding with gypsy bohemia, crocodiles jutting out from the walls, grandiose metal panels and gorgeous hangers – all of this make me drool and think, that there are no more rules in designing a store or any other concept. Fantasy and creativity is the most important, and Aspesi architects approve.

The Eye

11051760_924277977624006_7303060923564189118_o

Malwina Konopacka is a young, Polish artist which paints on porcelain and paper, creating a slightly nostalgic 60’s vibe around her works. Her recent cycle called “OKO” (The Eye) is all about her beautifully designed and printed vases, which truly make me think of Mondrian in a way. Spontaneously, the first vase was contrived when she was studying arts and design; then, her works were exhibited in Tokyo in order to present the world the design originating from Poland. The eye motif appeared since the beginning – as she states, painting on porcelain is a very relaxing thing to do. I already see one of her works in my house… Photos by Aga Bilska for USTA.

More on malwinakonopacka.com and at her exhibition „Oko by Malwina Konopacka”. Pies czy Suka in Warsaw, 13th of March till the 15th of April.

DAAD Dantone

DSC00802

The store I admire most in Milan is DAAD Dantone. Why? Whenever I visit this place, I feel closer to the beauty of niche fashion – the seasonless leather jackets, timeless fur vests and simply beautiful clothes, which don’t need a shouting tag attached to it. At DAAD Dantone, you might find pieces by Rick Owens, MA+, If Six Was Nine, Simona Tagliaferri (great knits and scarves up here), Poeme Bohemien, Boris Bidjan Saberi and many other eponymous label you probably have never heard of. But, no worries! You won’t feel overhelmed because the shop-owners will definitely tell you A LOT about the brands and accessories they got here. If talking of the interior, it’s full of concrete, but the amount of light is just perfect. Their perfume corner is well supplied, too – Meo Fusciuni fragrances are here, about which you are going to learn more in few days. So, what should I say more – for your next visit in Milan, add this place to your address list!
