Cheer up! It’s the super cute Jacquemus collection! Stripes, dots, smiles… it’s all about the happy beach summer in Marseille, with colourful umbrellas and comfortable white shirts… and more. For his fourth, runway collection, Simon Jacquemus showed a very strong and good thing- he keeps true to his naive, cute style. White shirt, white socks, white Adidas. And a bit of boldness in posture of stripes and other fun shapes. This time, Jacquemus showed some body in his looks- a bit of leg, a bit of shoulder. And the wet hair simply reflected the summer mood! In other words- these pieces just make us want summer to come as fast as possible! L’Ete pour toujours! (pardon my french)
Beach
Big Sur. Baja East SS15
I fell on my knees when I saw Baja East at The Satndard Hotel. The new collection of the loose luxury brand, designed by John Targon and Scott Studenberg, is simply this, what we covet to wear on lazy beach days. Ink dyed tops, sweatpants (or towel skirts), ethnic fabrics and light capes. For me- it’s a summer perfection. “We wanted to let the clothes speak for themselves,” Studenberg said backstage before the show. Ideas from previous seasons were brought forward, including the signature Baja top, in navy layered over a teal dress, and the hooded caftan, rendered in distressed white jersey. Cashmere-jacquard knit sweatpants, sweaters, cutoffs, and bra tops were done in bird and ikat patterns, and antique Balinese ceremonial skirts were reconstructed into long cape dresses and cloaks. In other words, everything is in need (even dough winter is coming).
Fun. Fendi SS14

The SS14 from Fendi was all about Summer fun- flowless beach dresses, beautiful red tops and amazing detailing. And… Well, of course fur. But Fendi collection is not Fendi without even a bit of fur. This season was very important for Fendi. After Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Fendi restorated together with City of Rome the Trevi Fountain, in Italy Fendi is not only a expensive label for rich women. It’s also a national jewel, sponsor of most cultural landscapes restorations in Rome! And thats really good! Coming back to the collection, I adored it strongly. The detailing is impressive, but at the same time it seems so cool and youthful… Karl knows how to shake up something correctly. Always. And I love him for this.
LFW: Get The London Look
Sister by Sibling- this youthful and cool collection by London based Sibling for women is just right for Summer- lots of exposed body, swimming wear and colours were seen in this great collection. I really loved this shade of violet that was present her- so refreshing! Blooming flowers for sure inspired the designers of this label- the last looks looked like flower bombs. There is also this part about transparent nets… perfect for a beach party spent in a sexy way!
Preen- I really liked this fluo-scentic collection- the flower prints, geometric cuts on dresses and the cool, flowless vibe is simply very Preen. Well, this dress with collar and flowers feels a bit deja vu from last Summer, but who cares- these are the flowers of the season. This plastic-like neon pink dress is fabulous- and these skirts are lovely. It’s all cute but with distance!
Richard Nicoll- Richard’s SS14 collection felt a bit too last season- stripes and geometry aren’t on A list. I expected something better from Nicoll- his last collections were reallu cool with their minimalistic vibes. Well, I can’t say the collection is bad. No it is not, but could be a bit more different. It’s chic, but not for London’s creativity. However, it’s for sure very comfortable and practical…
House of Holland- I love this! It is so Frida Kahlo! The collection from Henry Holland is inpired with Mexico- that’s visible- all these colours, prints, again colours- are really cool. I am certainly in love with the religious t-shirt and purple dresses with heart prints- so romantic. The tank tops and blouses from the collection would be perfect for a small Mexican trip… thumbs up for this fantastic collection!

Belles du Mexique

While packing, Lena found her beautiful, archival Hermes scarf that is stunning! The Belles du Mexique scarf made of silk with Mexican women dancing in their traditional dresses, is like a huge splash of colours, full of details and fun. Perfect for beach parties and a city escape during summer vacations. And it is so chic! I feel now so “these” times, after seeing this cool piece and the Yves Saint Laurent Style book, full of prints, sexuality and colours! Laisse aller à la plage!

And for a dessert for the top of all- Veruschka in Yves Saint Laurent safari costume! Looks beautiful!
