Palm Spring. Louis Vuitton Resort’16

Nicolas Ghesquiere truly amazed me this time. Louis Vuitton‘s Resort 2016 is the first collection, in which he shows he is really the boss. The collection, presented in Palm Springs, California, was a sunny blast of fresh, slightly eccentric fashion. Nicolas presented the silhouettes, that have never been present in his previous shows for the house and Balenciaga. Long, woman-warrior dresses with embellished gems;  high-waisted trousers with harness belts were everywhere; beautifully laser-cut leather jackets which reminded me of Victoriana era brought on the mood of Grimes and Lana Del Rey. But also, some sexy shorts and crop-tops appeared, giving us the vibe of the real all-American summer. But what spiced up the atmosphere of the show was the model casting. Ghesquiere’s favourite bae’s were here – the red-haired Natalie Westling, Argentinian it-girl Mica Arganaraz and the designer’s muse, Fernanda Ly with her mesmerising pink hair.

What may I say more? That California truly suits Nicolas Ghesquiere. And that he is a perfect match for this always open-minded and innovative house.

Modern Elegance. Iceberg SS15

Slide6

Alexis Martial is the perfect designer at Iceberg- for his third season at this pretty energetic Italian house, Alexis shows he’s worth of the new status. The Iceberg creative director was inspired by Southern California—the intense colors, its seedy strip malls, the people’s obsession with being physically fit. It made for his best collection yet for Iceberg: confident and vivid and, thanks to the sport influences, easy to wear but pretty elegant. With cacti and pitahaya fruits everywhere, Iceberg is fresh and cool for summer. The tailored pants, innovative fabrics and modernistic prints made the overall look slim and sleek. We’ve got to have an eye on Iceberg’s rebirth…

Saint Laurent Boots

For two months I am a number one fan of Saint Laurent AW13 collection by Hedi Slimane. I am in love to death with the California grunge inspired looks full of checks, leather and mini dresses. And these LA musician influenced boots are like the best thing in the collection. But why the #%^*@ are they so, so expensive? Hey, 5685€ is alright? No, not Hedi is mad Cathy Horyn, but the person that is dealing with commercial part for SL. These boots with the “DIY” decoration are beautiful, but not for 5000 and more euros. But, Slimane thought of more normal people and created the cheaper version of these boots for 1500€- without anything special. Just black, normal grunge boots. This is not same effect, but what shall I do? Still cool… 😋😋😋😋

Biarritz: Thom Browne X Dita

20130628-073320 PM.jpg
These mind blowing sunglasses, handmade in entirely Japan and taking inspiration from architecture and machinery of the mid-20th century, these come from Thom Browne in collaboration with California-based eyewear manufacturer, Dita. When I saw them, here in Biarritz, I was like wow! They look really amazing! And this vintage appeal… They are both in white and black- unisex.
