Pre – Essentials

Altuzarra – mules, checks and bandana is a lot of a frenchie!

The Pre-Fall 2014 pieces are fastly appearing in the stores, so why not have a look at the new trends closer (ok, we think summer now, but fashion industry is going to tell and what)? The pre-collections are always the ones that stay longer on the shopping racks and are the things you are going to wear the whole season – the AW14 is rather for the show… in my opinion, the thing to invest this time is a turtleneck knit or a chic bandana. Both look gorgeous with a over-sized, geometrical coat or an A skirt. Also, nothing fails like mules or heels with fur: they are everywhere and I love it! Also, voluminous sweaters look so last season with jeans- why not wear a lace skirt a la Jason Wu? Surely this time, the designers presented very mature looks, but I think they don’t give you age (just look at the The Row look-book). It just the matter of how you will wear it!

Ellery – perfect coat with perfect shoes means perfect outfit. Tie that turle round your neck, too!

Atto – A line skirt, tutleneck and comfortable pumps.

Jason Wu – Girly but mature, so an embroidered skirt and a knitted, wool sweater.

Reed Krakoff – a lovely work made for busy days. Love the pony on Reed’s sweatshirt!

The Row – masculine chic at it’s best.

Calvin Klein – Francisco Coasta thought of lazy evenings, so that’s why he offers warm, cozy wool dresses and jumpers that seem to be perfect for a stylish nap.

The Row – again, Olsens nailed it: the coat / cape that is a pure perfection. And that bag, of course.

Moody for Artsy-Craftsy

MakiOh_021_1366-1.450x675Craftsy-artsy means a bit crafty and a bit artistic. Ok. This is a literal definition. But as you may assume, this trend for AW14 is everywhere in form of knitwear and ethnical techniques. And my biggest fave of the season if talking craftsy is Maki Oh- the Lagos label based somewhere between Paris and London. This niche label is known for it’s African-culture fuse- simple dresses and tops combined with colourful fringes, shaggies and other cool stuff! And their AW14 shoes are… amazing. Who else rocked the craft of knit and ethno chic? Nicolas Ghesquiere at Louis Vuitton, Altuzarra and Calvin Klein…

Men’s: Obsession / Sex. Calvin Klein AW14

OC-1476-CK-editorial_710x554_04

Obsession, Escape and Eternity were the keywords that guided the AW14 menswear collection of Calvin Klein. And this is nothing else than the names of famous CK fragrances for men… Now all the labels try to support their legacy as much as possible, so no wonder that this is a very good step for the New York based house. The collection was based on brown, olive and black colours; it was full of warm jackets, sporty sweatshirts and super cool wool shirts worn with matchy gloves. The collection got few looks I adore, but nothing behind it…

The Fringe

001m

The Fringe is one of the most emerging trends for SS14- they were seen on blouses, bags, dresses, trousers, etc. In other words everywhere. The fringe trend is a bit taken from cowboys and South American cultures- the frenzy pieces of leather that were cut into narrow pieces, for some time were said to be kitsch and cheap looking… but as we can see, everuthing has it’s comebacks. My favourite looks are by Altuzarra, Valentino and Dries Van Noten- that makes it slightly more bohemique!
