GOLD RUSH- the golden polished skirts and dresses are definitely not only classics of Summer wardrobe, but also a must have this season. Proenza Schouler, Dries Van Noten, Haider Ackermann, Creatures of The Wind, Altuzarra.

RED WINE

RED WINE- The colour of burgundy seems to be a pretty heavy colour for Summer- but no worries, Marc Jacobs and Margiela made it top listers, so why not give it a try? Maison Martin Margiela, Givenchy, Proenza Schouler, Marc Jacobs.

TRIBE ATTACK

TRIBE ATTACK- Designers of SS14 were really inspired with African and South American tribes. Alexander McQueen show took us to a futuristic Masai village, were women wear feathers, reds and helmets; Valentino however visited South American major places like Incan and Aztec empires, plus having a peek at Mexico and Guatemala… Valentino, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Junya Watanabe.

ART-ART-ART

ART_ART_ART- While all the major art fairs are taking place, the Summer 2014 season is totally covered with Jeff Koons, Picasso and Damien Hirst. Chanel’s cute dresses with paint prints are simply adorable. And Prada? Even more artsy than ever! Chanel, Prabal Gurung, Celine, Prada, Comme des Garcons.

BIKER GIRL
BIKER GIRL- As punk and grunge was hottest last Winter, now it’s all about the biker jacket- looking good with everything. Style your like at Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton! Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier.

THINK PINK

THINK PINK- Pink, the Summer classic. Do I have to mention something more? Alexander Wang, Balmain, Giles, Isabel Marant, Jacquemus

FLOWER POWER
FLOWER POWER- “Flowers… how unusual for Summer.” Definitely it is pretty normal for SS, but… Christopher Kane took us to the new level of flower-power. Lets have a peek at an usual boring Biology book, and then at Chris SS14 collection. Love it! Christopher Kane, Dior, Marni, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana.

TROPICAL

TROPICAL- Well, don’t mix Tropical rain forests with Parisian roses. The tropical trend is more about printed Jumsuits and trousers- just like at Hermes, where Christophe Lemaire took us to a beautiful orangerie… Marc Jacobs, Hermes, No.21, Mary KatrantzouWHITE ON WHITE

WHITE ON WHITE- White this season is very pure and fresh. Beautiful sportwear from Balenciaga and Erdem’s casuality… is so white! Calvin Klein, Balenciaga, Simone Rocha, Erdem.

THE NET FORCE

NET FORCE- Net tops are certainly comfortable and air-permeable. They are mix of sporty chic with elegance… and will look good only without underwear. Just like at Alexander Wang, who styled it with high trousers and socks! Gucci, Alexander Wang, Dior, Anthony Vaccarello.

IN THE GYM

IN THE GYM- Loose it all up because this Summer we’re going out for some jogging! And the best who knows what is best for daily sport, are New Yorkers- Victoria Beckham and Rag & Bone knows how to do a good warm up! Rag & Bone, Victoria Beckham, Jonathan Saunder, Rick Owens, Alexander Wang.

PICNIC PARTY

PICNIC PARTY- Squares, checks, polka dots, spirals… we love all of them. Rodarte, Roland Mouret, Balmain, Derek Lam, Sportmax, 3.1. Philip Lim.

SHINE BRIGHT

SHINE BRIGHT- Shine like a shooting star in one of the hottest looks of the fashion month- Jason Wu, Fendi, Lanvin… The shiny trend is sexy and great for evenings. Or, for a Summer blast at the beach! Jason Wu, Fendi, Lanvin, Gucci, Christopher Kane, Saint Laurent.

MARINE CHIC

MARINE CHIC- Forget stripes while thinking of marine chic. It’s all about ecology and safety these days, so leave your hands in Kenzo’s and Julien David’s hands. This specific trend gives is a little reminder of beach paradise… That’s why we love it! Acne, Kenzo, Julien David, Olympia Le-Tan.

THE END

Milestone. Calvin Klein SS14

Slide1-kopia  Yuppy! Francisco Costa celebrates the tenth anniversary at helm of Calvin Klein! It is a milestone, so no wonder his guests (Rooney Mara!), new venue and the after-party reflected with huge echo during the NYC Fashion Week! As you could observe on my blog, I have never been a huge fan of Calvin Klein, but this season Francisco impressed me with this season. The light dresses with these cool elements that flow in the air while moving are just perfect for dancing and these wide trousers… oh, so cool! The mixture of colours was also very interesting- white, mint green and pastel pink. What should I say more- LOVE IT!Slide2 Slide3 Slide4 Slide5 Slide6 Slide7 Slide8

The New Yorkers

Slide1-kopia 6The Resort 2014 is already arriving everyday with tones of new collcetions, and it’s the time when the the hottest designers of New York already went for a nap, and the Europeans have just woke up before the Resort/Haute Couture Fashion Weeks. So here it is- a short review of Resort’14 in New York, that covers Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra, Balenciaga (it’s Parisian, but for me, because of Wang as head, it’s New York), Derek Lam and Jason Wu. So lets begin with… The PS brothers, Proenza Schouler!Slide2Well, Proenza Schouler is getting every season more mature and colourless, as you can see. Creme, white and grey colours, comfortable forms and warm prints. And it looks very similar to the Pre-Fall collection. There is no excitment, because clearly Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez stand for practicality, and their fantastic unique ideas are on the other side. Sad, because that was really different from others. Now it’s a bit Ralph Lauren- boring, classical.Slide3From some time I really love what Joseph Altuzarra is doing recently- first he did a amazing AW13 collection, then took Stella Tennant as a muse… The resort is how he said, sensitive and very femine, but not as sexy as his past ones. We’ve got some wild west pants here and a bit cowboy shirts mixed with modern elegance. Beautiful fur scarves, white dresses, lace and gold, do really match Altuzarra style! Slide4No, I’m not crazy. Balenciaga officially IS Parisian, but since Alexander Wang is the creative director, it lost all Parisian Chick. The collection began from Wang’s visit at Cristobal Balenciaga Museum. Yes. Then, Alex did nothing more, but copied the archives and made them black and white. When Ghesquiere designed Balenciaga, it was inspired by archives, but it was futuristic, edgy, modern. Now, with Mr. Wang it looks only into past, and just makes a first look that it’s SO FRESH bacause of the colour palette. I thought it won’t be so bad. Now even Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent is much more better for me.Slide5Derel Lam maybe is not a newcomer, but for sure a shooting star of NYC Fashion. This resort was minimalistic, eometrical and full of inovative fabrics. The dresses are at the time perfect for a shopping at Bergdof’s Goodman, for a run in Central Park and as well for a dinner in Nobu Tribeca. Is it a New York Celine? For now I see big future for Derek!Slide6Jason Wu suprised me this Resort season. I usuall didn’t really like Jason Wu’s collection because they were always so formal. But, this time I am pleased! Lots of new materials, fantastic paradise prints, jeans jacketa and midi skirts, plastic trench coats, pink bra’s, transparent lace dresses… There is really a lot of telling. For sure Michelle Obama won’t wear any of these, but it looks more affordable than ever! Jason Wu, big bravo’s for the best (exequies with Marc Jacobs galmorous collection I wrote few days ago)!10-crosby-derek-lam-resort-2014-22
