Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley, since last season, are the girls behind MBMJ (Marc by Marc Jacobs). And they are really doing a REVOLUTION (see AW14) at this brand! For summer, the designers brought a new strong sign- The New World System. With this, written on the cool tomboy shirts, we all really felt something new and refreshing. For example the round, sculptural plexi handbag (it’s FAB). Plastic-like polka dots tops. Latex looking blouses and leggings. And very polished Dr. Martens boots…the collection was really colourful, and it felt super cute and kawaii! What else felt lovely was the fact, that the collection is totally bold, youthful, fun… and these things are a bit missed in present fashion world. Katie and Luella, keep on doing what you are doing- it’s MEGA ULTRA great.
Colour
Darling. Rosie Assoulin SS15
Rosie Assoulin’s dresses are the go-to on red carpets and street style. For summer, the designer showed off with her signature, sculptural gowns, bold colours and feminine skirts. And all of that, comnbined with huge, huge hats. As usually, Rosie presented a vibrant collection, with it-girl pieces, like the culottes and a over-sized top. But, personally, I would love to see something new coming up from this great designer. We seriously see the same dresses in every collection (well, maybe the colours change a bit)! It’s not boring or traumatic, but simply… monotonous.
Men’s. Hybrid. Calvin Klein SS15
Beige. Beige. Beige. And then a little drop of yellow; little splash of red; and the whole red / yellow / orange PVC sweatshirts appeared. That was possibly the most dynamic change of action during the whole Milan Men Fashion Week! Calvin Klein summer was a sportish collection full of casual shorts, trousers (I love the cuts) and tank tops, that went through reincarnation of their colour. “Transparency is very important to move ahead with straightforwardness and simplicity” said Italo Zucchelli, the designer. I just want to add it reminded me of Miu Miu for AW14 (these vinyl!)…
Neo-Hippie. Christopher Kane Resort’15
What I enjoy about Christopher Kane is the fact that he can’t be tamed. Alhough he belongs to Kering group, he doesn’t hide his talent just to be more commercial. The new Resort 2015 collection is mix of his favourite things: lace, floral prints, denim and neon colours. The dresses were radiant and artsy while the pockets of jeans shorts & trousers were embroidered with beautiful flowers and insects. If talking of jewellery that’s pretty new at Kane, we had these little daisy shaped brooches that felt very childish and naive… just like the overall collection. There was also about hippie and the 60’s in here: this flower power brings peace and harmony, for goodness sake.
Graphic. Fausto Puglisi Pre-Fall’14

Fausto Puglisi pre-fall collection for women is totally booming with sex-appeal. With it’s sharp cuts in the skirts and dresses, the collection seems to be perfect for showing off your leg. The collection is covered all over with kaleidoscopic prints and strong colours, although some looks are very simple. For example the coats with some colour block! The model, Yumi Lambert, kicks off in a great way all these denim jackets and skinny trousers… Fausto Puglisi certainly is the member of the new Italian designers!
