Electric Combinations. Christopher Kane SS16

_KAN0443

Christopher Kane moves to the rythm of SS16 with a return to neon brights and patchwork dressing – python skins combined with plastic? Yes, I’m totally into that electric combination. What about the abstractly panneled cocktail dresses with straw-fringes? Acid-spilt lace skirts are back, too – but in a much more futuristic edition. The designer behind London’s fastest growing label happily let his creativity take over the reigns, and that is visible by the amount of uncommerical pieces presented during the show. Also, hand-made stuff fans, here is one for you – if you wish to do some DIY for next season, try out Christopher’s jewellery. You can find those plastic thingies in every Castorama or Ikea around your place!

Nordic Palettes. Freya Dalsjø SS15

Freya Dalsjø is one of the most exciting designers emerging from Denmark. After living in Berlin, she moved to Antwerp where she studied at Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Later, she launched her own brand in June 2012, bringing strong, modernistic concept. Freya Dalsjø provokes with architectural and artistic approach to fashion, bringing strong colours, sharp silhouttes and interesting technologies to life. Her love for fur has been further explored through a collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur. A material which she irreverently mixes with neoprene. And you can clearly see that in her SS15 collection, where Freya uses coloured fur on sandals! The collection itself had lots of colours and extraordinary details – natural stone necklaces, nordic prints, fluid like dresses… and a slightly punkish feel, in posture of piercing on the model’s noses. Dalsjø definitely belongs to the world of neoprene!

Signature. Rosie Assoulin Resort’15

The CFDA nominee and fresh designer from New York continues to experiment with colours and volumes this season. Rosie Assoulin plays over-sized blouses, wide pants and striped gowns that look beautifully sculptural on the diverse models. I really loved all of these orange cropped tops and interesting, elegant fabrics which were used instead of typical taffeta and velvet… Looking at Assoulin collections each season, I must admit- this girl stays herself and doesn’t pretend to be the next must-have designer!

Women. Tome Resort’15

Tome_001_1366.450x675

Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin are interested in women. Their New York based label is all about simplicity of clothing and confident, cosmopolitan, polished yet unfussy in their sense style. Their Resort 2015 collection was just it! The models looked gorgeous in every dress and every skirt. The prints were calm but eye catchy. And the colours were perfect for Spring in New York… I see everything here worn at a Central Park stroll. Although it’s all very mature, these clothes are going to look really good on a 20 and up! Tome, I feel a new know how brand is forming… More on http://tomenyc.com

Plastic Fantastic. Miu Miu AW14

Slide1-kopia 5Miuccia Prada surely watched too much of Barbie before designing her collection for Miu Miu in Paris. The AW14 was so candy-flossy-barbie-girl-plastic-fantastic, that it’s simply impossible. But, well, it is. And those plastic shoes with a nail. They are killer. What’s more, some girlie embroidery was seen here too, with strong colours of pink, yellow and blue. There where those radiant PVC coats that are perfect for a rainy autumn day… A lot things happened here. And that’s totally opposite to the main Prada collection… I love it too bad.
