Scandi Attitude. Freya Dalsjø SS17

Copenhagen Fashion Week is a great occasion to observe, how Danes do fashion. This time, I’m in love with Freya Dalsjø‘s spring-summer 2017 collection. Dalsjø has a new take on heritage techniques with an avant-garde approach in her work, deconstructing and exaggerating forms and silhouettes. The collection is quite simple at the first glance, but just have a look at the voluminous coats and parachute dresses. Raw-cut denim and pajama shirts with elongated sleeves make me think of the ‘Vetements factor’, but in a much more clean, Scandinavian version. Dalsjø’s strong point of the collection is the colour palette – lime-green jumpsuits, chocolate-brown skirts and bold-yellow, polished boots. Oh yes, the boots… too good to be true. Always unconventional in model casting, clothes with Freya Dalsjø tag live their life on diverse women with attitude.

Nordic Palettes. Freya Dalsjø SS15

Freya Dalsjø is one of the most exciting designers emerging from Denmark. After living in Berlin, she moved to Antwerp where she studied at Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Later, she launched her own brand in June 2012, bringing strong, modernistic concept. Freya Dalsjø provokes with architectural and artistic approach to fashion, bringing strong colours, sharp silhouttes and interesting technologies to life. Her love for fur has been further explored through a collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur. A material which she irreverently mixes with neoprene. And you can clearly see that in her SS15 collection, where Freya uses coloured fur on sandals! The collection itself had lots of colours and extraordinary details – natural stone necklaces, nordic prints, fluid like dresses… and a slightly punkish feel, in posture of piercing on the model’s noses. Dalsjø definitely belongs to the world of neoprene!

Tennis Court. Ganni SS15

So here we are – Copenhagen Fashion Week! Yay! The first day just ended and we’ve already got tons of great labels and designers. The first one on the go? Definitely it’s Ganni. That youthful brand showed it’s new collection for SS15 on a tennis court, where the models wore sporty, awesome dresses and oufits. The main idea of Ganni is to create sexy and playful clothes which are not too tricky, not too fashion but very gorgeous. For the new season, we saw great pieces for active summer – white maxi dresses, green satin sweatpants, easy-to-go sequin gowns… and of course white trainers on the feet. What’s better than that? Well, only the good styling. “At Ganni we don’t believe in the idea of one single designer personifying entire collections again and again, we prefer exchanging ideas. We do that within the design team and together with other artists that inspire us. Together we blend past classics with the best of the present – to create collections that are sexy and vibrant.
