December 9: Yohji Yamamoto broke the system during Paris Fashion Week in April, presenting his AW14- manga-printed, huge parachute coats and knitted masterpieces. The Japanese king of avant-garde together with Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons stole my heart this year. They know how to do fashion.
December 8: Kym Ellery succesfully concquers Europe with her Aussie label, Ellery. Famous for exaggerated, voluminous silhouttes, smart colour & print mixing and always great shoes, Kym has a lot to offer and her ground-breaking brand is the one to observe in 2015.
December 7: A.F. Vandevorst, the eponymous label of a couple, had a great 2014- a new flagship store in Antwerp with an atelier on the second floor. Also, their SS15 collection was a beautiful fuse of militarian grunge and couture finishings. In other words, the Antwerpian label is in full-bloom this year!
December 6: Andre Saraiva, the French artist is not only a party beast I would love to meet on a big event, but also a painter who makes streets look hyper and cooler with his iconic MR.A! Andre’s character is always cheerful, smiley and… a bit tipsy, in a good way.
December 5: Demna Gvasalia, the alum of Maison Martin Margiela, made the ultra-eponymous label, Vetements, the perfect place to find a time-less over-sized jacket, voluminous boots and elusice, dark dresses. Vetements is new for 2014, so waiting to see their new collection in March is unbearable! C’est chic.
