For me, the Guggenheim Museum in New York is a place for inspiration hunting. Not only art there makes your imagination work, but also the architecture of this building- the spiral, white interior of Guggenheim is one of the most beautiful thing in NYC. And, I don’t know why, but it feels to me that the Proenza Schouler designer duo had their beautiful collection influenced with this magnificient place! The show venue of the collection of PS SS14 collection was happening in a typical NY loft. It started with delicate leather coats, then changed into some very Proenza prints and ended up with metallic skirts and tops. I should say I really like the mature version of Proenza Schouler- the 10 year old label changes dramatically from a toxic-coloured-and-neon-printed-amazon-frog-girl into a beautiful, New York lady that adors to walk every morning to Central Park and fancies a dance in one of the New York’s hottest lobster bars… In other words, the clothes, shoes (that are pretty funny) and bags from that Summer collection at Proenza Schouler are simply beautiful! This is the New New York Look!

Design
Rick Owens “Pre-History”
Rick Owens’s new furniture collection made in his studio in Paris, is not only special because of the label- no, more because of the materials used in these sofas and armchairs. In reality, RO chose very rare and specific materials- The 500,000 year old fossilized wood throws up subtle nuances of smoked brown and the blackened plywood provides a counterpoint to the lighter tones; alabaster, a sublime material used by sculptors in Sumerian times whose transparent pallor echoes the color of the ivory of a cow’s bone. As you see, these minimalistic, brutallic forms have much more to say that most of other chairs! Their concept is very simple, showing the beauty of natural fabrics. Dealt with in juxtaposition, the values come together and compose a three-dimensional piece that is totally relevant to the designer’s own style. He cuts and shapes a transversal and global universe, from fashion to furniture.

Pink Blush!
Who said that pink was only for Barbie dolls? For sure not the designers for Autumn-Winter 2013! This season was a pure pink colour explosion. From Miu Miu polka dot coats to Simone Rocha super cute pastel dresses, the runways were flowing with pink. But it wasn’t about just one shade of pink- there was the soft bluch (Dior), candyfloss (Roksanda Ilincic), pastel gingham (Prada), fierce fuchsia (Dries Van Noten) and many more types of pink prints, fabrics and furs. In other words, pink made a suprise appearance throughout the shows. So banich the black and bury the beige in your wardrobe! From now on girls, pink got words to say to the fashion world! Hand Painted Majesty

Holly Fowler is a name to watch in London fashion scene- this girl has something really fresh and at the same time traditional to offer! To be clear. Holly is not doing prints, trench coats, Tartan plaids nor feather and high tech innovations. It’s all about… Hand-painted dresses! Sounds kind of stereotypical, but it looks so refreshing and new! The painted frescos on long minimalistic dresses, leather jackets and skirts look fantastic with their strong colours! Fowler also did to big collaborations- one with bags and dresses for Browns London, where a simple leather bag had a realistic print, and second one for Bergdof Goodman in New York! Really, the effect is mesmerising. This is real fashion- it really feels new, but it is still something wearable and at the same time at level of haute couture… In pretty affordable prizes!

Tuscany: Carrara
Carrara is the city of marble in Tuscany, where biggest amounts of marble are found and used from the local mountains. It sounds kind of normally, but in reality and landscape around looks destroyed and devastated- the mountains are simply peeled off! For sure there is no ecology in that… But the city looks fantastic. It is very old, but you shall find modern marble sculptures everywhere, that looks cool. And there is also this church made all out of marble… It all makes me think of Balenciaga by Alexander Wang AW13 collection inspired with marble form!
