Architecture. Vick Beckham SS14

Slide1-kopiaVictoria Beckham did a really good job with her SS14 collection! It’s very in her style, minimalistic and beautiful. The collection was inspired with modern architecture- easy forms, black & white colours, truss triangle pattern on bags and dresses and many other showed the things that influenced Vicky’s clothes for Summer. But, although the collection is pretty warm (come on, golf sweaters?) and cold at the same time (well, these colours would for sure better match the next winter!), the collection is very good and I like it! The opener of theย show was of course the new muse of Beckham, Edie Campbell, the British beauty, that season before was together with Cara Delevigne in every campaign and show!Slide2 Slide3 Slide4 Slide5 Slide6 Slide7

Malboro Girl. Altuzarra SS14

Slide1-kopia 2Altuzarra woman is a strong business-cowgirl from the famous Malboro cigarettes advertisements. Yes, but didn’t it bored Joseph Altuzarra who repeats the same scheme from last Summer? Last year was like totally the same- cuts in skirts, tribal accents, shiny fabrics and this rodeo feeling. And after his amazing Winter collection I expected something much more sophisticated, interesting. But unfortunately, Altuzarra wanted to be more classic in his way. But is that alright for this young New York based designer? From Indian colonist costumes we move to super futuristic furs and then we comeback to the same prints with other ideology? I am very dissapointed with that collection. Sorry Altuzarra.

Urban Jungle. Tibi SS14

On the third day of New York Fashion Week, I can say, that the designers calmed down after last year’s colour splash and print madness! Tibi SS14 is the best example of that. This New York based label that prices are very affordable didn’t really shock, but it did really remind as all about Summer paradise! The green jumpsuits, kaleidoscopic jungle prints and comfortable sandals were the right shot for next season. There were also these minimalistic leather black jackets, over-large safari trousers and the beloved orange dress- so light and perfect for beach… Summer, comeback, please! ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒด P.S. I love this season in New York!

Modern. Prabal Gurung SS14

Slide1-kopiaPrabal Gurung shocked New York with one thing- he did really shock! This SS14 collection is a masterpiece. It’s like a one big Picasso painting- ubstract, surrealistic and modern! With a runway covered with aluminium foil, the models “phress off the runway” in amazing leather skirts with colourful prints and amazing Zana Bayne custom made leather lingerie under these beautiful shirts… This season at PG was very lady-like (the forms, dresses, coats) but totally modernized with mesmerizing embroiderment Prabal detailing! There was a lot of discreet transparency in the skirts and blouses, which made the models look feminine within all these killing prints… After boring gowns and routine holograms, Gurung certainly did break his limits!

“PRABAL GURUNG has always taken the notion of a powerful woman seriously (see: sharp tailoring, bondage detailing, harness belts, etc.), and this season will be no different. For Spring โ€™14, Gurung collaborated with New York-based jeweler Chris Habana on a covetable collection of tough-chic, striking statement pieces, such as acrylic-adorned armor rings (which debut exclusively here) and razor-embellished ear cuffs. โ€œWhat initially drew me to the beauty of Chrisโ€™ designs is that they are so raw yet painstakingly crafted,โ€ Gurung told Style.com. โ€œMy heart lies downtown and his work reminds me of the glory days of New York, particularly the East Village, which was the underground epicenter of creativity.โ€ Style.com exclusive for the new season jewellery at PG!
