Focus on Sleeves. Marni AW16

KIM_0358

At Marni, you focused on the sleeves, mostly. Consuelo Castiglioni isn’t new to silhouettes experiments, and her autumn-winter 2016 collection in Milan proved that, with the bell-like sleeves peeking out of the soft military coats and fur sheaths. If talking of the rest – it was a very Marni show, invigorated by the brand’s signature, abstract patterns on mini-dresses and blazers with fluorescent plexi sequins. Not that it was boring – the over-sized sleeves, I predict, will be styled in every possible editorial next season. But it presents in the most clear way that Castiglioni feels good in her comfort zone, not surprising anybody this season (except the true Marni fanatics).

Coool. Piece d’Anarchive SS14

Slide1-kopia 4 French art students learn about Jean Pierre Raynaud at school. He was the conceptualist who spent 25 years building his house, only to decide it was too perfect and, in 1993, tear it to bits. Piece d’Anarchive, the fresh label coming straight from Paris, is a buzzy, loudly printed and cool vibed brand, that’s pretty new in fashion world. Their first real collection happened last season, and their second is up here, for Spring. Piece d’Anarchive designs for men and women, and their look-books make me want everything! The new collection is inspired with famous monochrome prints that were created by Jean Pierre Raynaud. Shorts, dresses, shoes (!), tshirts… everything is in black & white checks. The womenswear looks really hot and cool, and menswear is simply omething I want for a Christmas present! Just look at these trousers and sweatshirts! Love it! Abstract. Roksanda Ilincic SS14

Slide01SS14 for Roksanda Ilincic meant only one thing- art. This collection was really suprisingly good- all these yellow colours, geometrical patterns- just like if taken out of one of the Mondrian paintings! Roksnda again mixes volume in that superb collection with over-large jackets and flowless printed skirts. Surely, this was one of better things Roksanda did for few seasons- this was so refreshing and nice! All these colourful stripes and awesome embroideries are kind of new to Ilincic- after many seasons of same, boring dresses with over sized sleeves started to be a bit too monotone… But this time Roksanda Ilincic impressed me for Summer!Slide02Slide03Slide04Slide05
