Ace & Jig

What is Ace & Jig? When I first heard that simple, catchy name I knew from the beginning that it’s going to be cozy and cute. And I wasn’t mistaken. The designers, Jenna Wilson and Cary Vaughan, constantly bring new ideas to their New York-based label. They make winters be all about ponchos while summers feel the seaside notions and slightly hippie vibes. Material is Ace & Jig’s first love and to see them using traditional mills in India for making and dyeing their lovely textiles sounds great. For summer 2015, the duo gives as a flashback at pajamas craze of the 20’s, marine stripes and sailor pants with suspenders. The ease of those pieces, the mood the designers bring and the relaxing styling the look-book has makes me really want summer comeback. Those hand-embroidered caftans and signature checked shirts surely will deliver a warm ray of sun to your wardrobe. To end up this warm post, I truly recommend yout to follow their new account on Instagram! aceandjig.com

India. Tome SS15

_LKV6334

The Tome designers, Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo, brought beauty of India onto the NYFW. The traditional sari knots had a big role in this collection- tied in a modern way, worn as a shirt with a midi skirt and black sandals, the LOOK stole the spotlight. But who inspired the boys most for this interesting move? The hindu photographer Dayanita Singh, who shows daily life in India. The silhouettes of dresses, embroidered tops and minimal knots feel simple, but with a opulent bling. This slightly commercial collection is a good one for mature women which feel that travelling and spirituality have many things in common. And of course it’s for those who feel like dressing in a luxurious, but effortless pieces. I am really in love with diversity on Tome’s runway- other labels should take notes!

Turkey Express. Kenzo AW13

aa_905Kenzo was a real trip to Asia. But to the modern one, west one. There were lots of Turkish and Indian influenced prints, colours like gold, red, and really great materials! At the beginning I thought that the designers were inspired with Proenza Schouler last seasons collection. But then it got even better and better! And I am happy because the designers are getting even more mature! No more jungle prints, tigers that I still love , but more rich and stylish! Love it!

The ultimate print of the collection was a turkish eye! It’s a symbol of happiness and luck. The jackets and pants were totally printed in it. There was also a Jacard thems- whole outfits made of jacquard material with beautiful prints. I really loved the blue colour on shirling coats. And the last dress in Indian patterns in gold shades that was covered in foil was a real essential! Lovely collection!!!
