Italian Simple. Bottega Veneta AW15

KIM_0021

When I first saw Tomas Maier’s AW15 for Bottega Veneta, I fell something positive. Although we’ve got polka dots there and there, the collection is kept in simple way – the silhouette is very graphical, but at the same time feminine. The 60’s and 70’s are revisited, but in modern, contemporary way. And what else is exciting about the entire collection, is this beautiful, Italian mood – Bottega Veneta’s woman for fall loves a cappuccino in the morning and enjoys a glass of red wine in the evening. She does everything in slow way, but with grace and elegance. She’s mysterious, but friendly. And she has days which are  black & white, and days which are full of stripes and colour block!

I thought this might catch the constantly changing mood of Bottega Veneta woman…

Blush Beauty. No21 AW15

N21_0068

Alessandro Dell’Acqua is called the modern-day Italian fashion genius. And I totally approve that statement. This guy knows, how to mix contemporary with opulent – a tweed pencil skirt worn with gold-patent jacket; olive green hoodie styled with hand-embroidered dress – those are just few examples of how Alessandro rolls in fashion. For AW15, the designer of No21 brought a lot of blush pink into the collection, which felt super lovely. The two snow-white looks were excellent, too – the embroidered flower appliqued coat is dreamy… and the tune of “Let’s Dance” by David Bowie perfectly fit the entire scene. Romantic, but with a sharp masculine contrast.

DAAD Dantone

DSC00802

The store I admire most in Milan is DAAD Dantone. Why? Whenever I visit this place, I feel closer to the beauty of niche fashion – the seasonless leather jackets, timeless fur vests and simply beautiful clothes, which don’t need a shouting tag attached to it. At DAAD Dantone, you might find pieces by Rick Owens, MA+, If Six Was Nine, Simona Tagliaferri (great knits and scarves up here), Poeme Bohemien, Boris Bidjan Saberi and many other eponymous label you probably have never heard of. But, no worries! You won’t feel overhelmed because the shop-owners will definitely tell you A LOT about the brands and accessories they got here. If talking of the interior, it’s full of concrete, but the amount of light is just perfect. Their perfume corner is well supplied, too – Meo Fusciuni fragrances are here, about which you are going to learn more in few days. So, what should I say more – for your next visit in Milan, add this place to your address list!

Bollywood – Milan

DSC00722

While in Milan, I am visiting various fashion showrooms for a future project, and I really enjoyed Stella Jean’s preview of AW15. The full collection is going to be presented at the end of February, so here is your “exclusive” look at it! As the showroom notes said, Stella Jean brought Bollywood magic of colours, prints and boldness to comfortable, stylish silhouettes. You might think the clothes are kitsch- absolutely no! Although there a lot of Bollywood accents in here, we’ve got a beautiful selection of knitwear, tweed skirts and gorgeous flannel shirts. Also, the spotlight was stolen by the hand-stitched coat and skirt combo, representing amazingly embroidered patterns… by looking over and over again at my photographs, I just can’t wait to see the full collection during Milan fashion week!

Milan Nights

image

Milan is a city which always makes me wonder… and it looks most gracious during the night time. You can observe peacefully gleaming shop windows, flickering neons and elegantly lightened streets. The people which go by, the pieces of art which are standing in the galleries. It all seems to be seductive and very Milano-like. If talking of evening eating, which I am good at, Paper Moon is the place where simple dishes taste better than in any fine restaurant. The penne pasta with rabbit raggu, the pizza al pastore, the parma ham with melon… and my favourite artichoke salad which is always perfectly fitted with few drops of lemon juice. Milan, you are an enchanting place.
