Nomads. Kenzo Pre-Fall’15

Kenzo_25_1366

Yay! Fluffy shoes are back! And in pink. Thankfully, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim again caught the wave of cool. The pre-fall is fun, modern and kawaii – just like Kenzo Tagada’s legacy. The main theme of the collection were nomad tribes – their culture was presented on the designers mood-board, causing a beautiful textile mix – fur, velvet, wool, rubber, satin… these huge parkas are seriously eye-catchy. A total yes to them, and to Humberto & Carol.

Cyborgs. Kenzo SS15

IMG_8001.JPG

I kind of don’t feel the newest Kenzo show. These 3D screens with the talking head, the logo all over, the skiing glasses… even dough the venue was a skate-park, the clothes weren’t really what I expected from Humberto Leon and Carol Lim. Denim, over-sized neoprene skirts, cosmic bags, granny shoes. It felt like a psychodelic Tumblr. But the problem is, that this topic is really over-used… and Kenzo, which means modern, feels a bit faux pas.

Men’s: Pont de Neuf. Kenzo SS15

Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of Kenzo showed their recent collection on Pont de Neuf – one of the most touristic and the most beautiful bridge in Paris. As it was raining, the guests had their Kenzo umbrellas, while the models wore the waterproof clothes for next Summer. The collection wasn’t my favourite one from this label. We had lots of KENZO PARIS logos here, geometric patterns and strong colours, which aren’t necessarily everybody’s fav. Polka dots found their home on coats, while the pararrel stripes were on the trousers. And the cosmic sunglasses… I see this collection worn rather on Mars than on Pont de Neuf!
