England. Mary Katrantzou SS14

Mary Katrantzou’s SS14 collection was all about… Yeah, prints and… England! The queen of prints again mastered this what she does best, and this happened- brogues (type of shoes for men that are hand-made in England) and lots of English gardens appeared on fantastic dresses created by Mary. The collection indeed is very beautiful- I really like the topic of shoes covering dresses- that sounds a bit strange. But this V neck dress looks really good. The next dresses covered all over with fairy-tale gardens looked too amazing. Jackets, tops and trousers looked like flower-bombs and additionally decorated with printed gems, it looked even more spectacular. What’s most exciting about this collection, is that all these prints are so 3-D… And at the same time they don’t make the women silhouette visually look fatter! Why? It’s all thanks to amazing Mary Katrantzou.

LFW: Get The London Look

Slide1-kopiaSister by Sibling- this youthful and cool collection by London based Sibling for women is just right for Summer- lots of exposed body, swimming wear and colours were seen in this great collection. I really loved this shade of violet that was present her- so refreshing! Blooming flowers for sure inspired the designers of this label- the last looks looked like flower bombs. There is also this part about transparent nets… perfect for a beach party spent in a sexy way!Slide2 Slide3Preen- I really liked this fluo-scentic collection- the flower prints, geometric cuts on dresses and the cool, flowless vibe is simply very Preen. Well, this dress with collar and flowers feels a bit deja vu from last Summer, but who cares- these are the flowers of the season. This plastic-like neon pink dress is fabulous- and these skirts are lovely. It’s all cute but with distance!
Slide4 Slide5Richard Nicoll- Richard’s SS14 collection felt a bit too last season- stripes and geometry aren’t on A list. I expected something better from Nicoll- his last collections were reallu cool with their minimalistic vibes. Well, I can’t say the collection is bad. No it is not, but could be a bit more different. It’s chic, but not for London’s creativity. However, it’s for sure very comfortable and practical…Slide6 Slide7House of Holland- I love this! It is so Frida Kahlo! The collection from Henry Holland is inpired with Mexico- that’s visible- all these colours, prints, again colours- are really cool. I am certainly in love with the religious t-shirt and purple dresses with heart prints- so romantic. The tank tops and blouses from the collection would be perfect for a small Mexican trip… thumbs up for this fantastic collection!Slide8 Slide9

Female. JW Anderson SS14

Slide1-kopiaLondon Fashion Week have just started… and it’s first hot collection is over here! The J.W. Anderson for SS14 is like a round-up and something more of his all collections. This young, ultra talented designers who claims that fashion will never be art for him, is going to be invested by… yes LVMH, as rumours say. Will we soon see a first J.W. Anderson store in London? Hopefully. This collection is definitely one of the strongest collection of Jonathan- I loved all these textures that looked like origmi and these transparent tops with black elements look marvelous… maybe it is not to pracitical since boobs will be seen and a bra would surely spoil it, but the world of J.W. is always shocking. Anderson is famous for his menswear collection full od skirts and dresses, and is mostly known for his gender mix aesthetics… However this collection is very feminine. And I like it!

London Fashion Week SS12 Highlights

Burberry Prorsum- A real change in the label. Usually everone thought about Burberry as sport brand, but after this and last season, it got the status of chic! The neon dresses, bags, shoes and jackets are really hot this summer and those peplums still are at the top!Vivienne Westwood Red Label- as always unique and crazy, Vivienne didn’t disapoint for this summer. Florals, elegant but super ordinary dress are the must haves from this collection.Mary Katrantzou collection was inspired with Greece postcards, wildlife and a big pallette of blue colour. However not so spectacular as last season, it is still amazing and gives as the 3D Print Effect.Peter Pilotto’s classical look didn’t really change, however we can see some beautiful floral prints, orange colour and the new shade of blue. The collection was in reality like a collage! Different things with other things. I love it!My favourite of all- Christopher Kane

“Backstage at Christopher Kane and the atmosphere is electric, which is coincidental as moments before the show begins the designer tells a nearby camera crew that his inspiration for comes from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Previous collections have had off kilter beginnings, (the pencil cases and crochet throws from Kane’s youth and even Princess Margaret) but with Christopher Kane the origins of a collection never seem to matter – the end result is always spectacular.”

“The show begins and models in a procession of white, grey and pink dresses and skirt suits hit the runway with acrylic bolts at the seams. We like. Next are the pastel-toned wire cocktail dresses. We love. Now a printed tee featuring Boris Karloff as Frankenstein’s monster. We want. Then… a wire-emblazoned leather biker jacket, worn alongside a sheer-gauze skirt with a rubber-filigree overlay and Igor… we’re alive!”
