Disco Party. Lanvin SS14

Slide1-kopiaThat was a very classical Lanvin collection- dresses, jackets, t-shirts with skirts- ant that all in energetic metallic fabrics! Well, that was surely not the best Lanvin, but it wasn’t bad. I loved the Great Gatsby inspired dresses- in reality, the collection was like a loud party under Jay Gatsby’s roof. Everything was kitschy and full of splendour… and what a bit suprised me, pretty warm as for Summer. But still, the collection was nothing spectacural, although cool. Very Lanvin!

Belle Epoque. Van Noten SS14

Dries Van Noten again did what he’s best at- the Saint Germain chic in his SS14 collection. After hot checked shirts and Parisian boheme inspired feather dresses, it’s the time for Parisian Belle Epoque style. Dries really did a good job. Amazing ultra big ruffles, metallic elements and flower prints look simply fantastic. Beautiful dresses with middle length, chic jackets and street influenced sweatshirts were also here. So, definitely the colour for Van Noten that ruled was metallic gold. And the closing look with Sasha Luss that was all covered with ruffles still sits in my head!

NYC. Creatures of The Wind SS14

20130905-082912 PM.jpg
Surprise, surprise! NYFW just started! Full of energy and fresh designers, the first day was all about… style of New Yorker “too-cool-to-care” style, that is always bright and not banal! S, here I am writing about the first, selected by me collection of New York Fashion Week (last year we started with Alexander Wang!), Creatures of The Wind. This young label designed by duo of “cool” boys is a definition of youth and coolness of NYC people. It is a mix of python prints, colour blocks, flower embroideries, loose trousers and straight forms that look casual and at the same time extremely elegant- but with fantasy. What I seriously loved about this season at CoTW were the fabrics- beautiful, a bit rustical rose embroideries mixed with super modern materials… And the structural skirts looked like art pieces on the models silhouette. This is a extremely cool collection. Can’t wait for more NYFW that is always exciting!

Nomadian Elegance. Alexander Wang AW13

DSC04733_1280WHere we are back in New York City, the American capital of fashion. The NY Fashion Week started with new ideas, new (furry) trends and colours. For beginning I chose Alexander Wang with his amazing collectio that I called Nomadian Elegance. When the model with a grey hoodie on her head, grey structured coat and amazing, long, black, made out of fur gloves, I knew Wang will be leading in the new season. Then came more and more sweaters, coats that remind me slightly of Parisian chick like Margiela or Celine. When the in-the-hoodie models change into without-a-hoodie ones, I saw some influences with Wang’s past collections- Sweatshirts with holes, and a lot of metallic youth vibe!Slide1And I really loved the origami grey dress with a metallic top on it! The model that closed the show was Malgosia Bela, a Polish top model who is starring now for A.Wang summer campaign. She came out in a minimalistic white blouse and pants, and in a beautiful grey fur. Malgosia looked really stunning! The shoes of the collection were also cool- black leather pumps and on them a grey wool sock! That will for sure gonna work for cold conditions!Slide2 Slide3
