J.W. Anderson loves playing with shape. And with silhouttes. But his AW14 was a bit blurred and unstable in fact- the gowns were made out of delicate fabrics, although looked cold. What else, it felt that Anderson wanted to move into a new direction, into something new- but this “something” was lost.
Interesting turtlenecks and shoes appeared on the runway with all those structured minimalistic forms… But the collection lacked of the designer’s freshness that was always brought on London Fashion Week runway. That was surely one of the weakest collection to date, but the most commercial.

Lurex Vision of Proenza
During the SS14 Fashion Week in New York, one label that was the most buzzed around was surely Proenza Schouler. The designer duo, Lazara Hernandez and Jack McCollough, made their sophisticated and eponymous label the hottest export product from the Big Apple! Gathering the coolest models around (Jamie Bochert and Edie Campbell, for example?), mixing fabrics that no one other would use (LUREX!) and creating the new New York chic, the PS boys really nailed it. The collection was kept in warm, creme / red / gold colours with some small dose of tree branch print. We also spotted some ethno vibes- the bags and coats with this navajo-like material and all these metallic bustiers with golden flowers and buggs on it! I found the shoes too a bit African inspired- these wooden platforms and leather embroideries made it this season on the accessory list.
This lurex striped maxi dress. Looks so amazingly sexy and beautiful on Jamie. Lurex, a very artificial fabric, that is not really considered us a luxury material, makes the dress suprisingly soft and delicate! And notice one thing- this a bit disco-like gown is not styled with heels, but… metallic geek sandals. Love it insanely.
Sharp Cut Minimalism

The SS14 by Victoria Beckham has it’s own, minimalistic mood, that I truly love. And by saying minimalism, I don’t mean the one that is presented at Celine or Jil Sander- Victoria, throughout the seasons sculpted her own style vision, that she’s devoted to in every collection and her everyday style. Kept in mostly black & white colours, the fuxia bright truss patterns on the shirts and skirts simply took all the brave away in the middle of the show. The jackets, bags and shoes looked all pretty comfortable, while the whole collection had it’s architectural, sharp cut in it. Victoria Beckham’s SS14 is a collection by strong women, who mixes work and family in a great style. By the way- the opening of the show was amazing- thanks to Edie Campbell, and the beautiful white-jacket-black-trousers outfit she wore!
Resort’s LOOSE!
As the Resort 2014 approaches in huge steps to on-line stores and boutiques, it’s the best time to have a first peek at what will be the hottest of all. Definitely, this Resort season feels very simple and minimalistic- lots of loose trousers, straight cutted jackets and comfortable trenches are visible in the look-books. Certainly the most beautiful collections are by Derek Lam, Givenchy and Celine- they the ones that will be best sellers this time. Remembering about the Spring spirit, give your total look a strong dose of pink- just like at Alexander Wang and Kenzo! And if thinking of accessories… certainly, again, Celine rules, with it’s beige leather birkenstocks and ne cabas bags! So, lets forget of Winter, and unpatiently wait on Spring!

Cedric Charlier’s Colour Blocking
Belgian designer Cedric Charlier’s eponymous label boasts clean, sporty cuts in a rainbow of bright hues, colour block patterns and abstract prints this Resort 2014 season. As Cedric is a pretty new name in Parisian fashion scene, he already has an eye on the future. How not to love these easy-going dresses, funny prints and comfortable suits in these Summer colours? I feel powerless to that.
