Fanaberie. Louis Vuitton Resort’15

Slide1-kopia 7

Nicolas Ghesquiere stays for good at Louis Vuitton- his latest collection was a first ever Resort collection presented on the runway. And as you surely know, it was in Monaco. The collection itself was a mash-up. The fabrics were mixed up (lace with knitwear), the colours were very radiant and vibrant and it all felt sweet and tasty. Ghesquière is still liking the fit-and-flare silhouette he introduced for Fall, but there was more diversity on the runway tonight. High-waisted, slightly flaring trousers will stir memories for fans of the leg-elongating pants he used to make at Balenciaga; on the other hand, embroidered slips with scalloped hems were among the least structured things he’s ever done. And because this was a Resort collection—in stores longer than any other season—the show ran the gamut, from a sheared fur coat to jersey T-shirt dresses. The handbag offering has grown, as well: The Petite Malle now comes with a chain handle, and he’s added a new, wide-mouthed bucket bag. In my opinion, it’s still not the fullest of what is hidden in Nicolas talent- but the collection has its strong points I like.

About the artist: Yves Klein was a French artist considered an important figure in post-war European art. He is the leading member of the French artistic movement of Nouveau réalisme founded in 1960 by art critic Pierre Restany. Klein was a pioneer in the development of Performance art, and is seen as an inspiration to and as a forerunner of Minimal art, as well as Pop art.

Monaco by Juergen Teller

LV_cruise_15_58

Here is your peek of Louis Vuitton Resort 2015 collection that was debuted in Monaco. Traditionally, the photos were taken by Juergen Teller and the moody cactis and and flowers make it all look more fluent. The collection was modern, innovative and smart- just like Nicolas Ghesquiere who is in charge. The full review will come later, so stay tuned!

Disco Party. Lanvin SS14

Slide1-kopiaThat was a very classical Lanvin collection- dresses, jackets, t-shirts with skirts- ant that all in energetic metallic fabrics! Well, that was surely not the best Lanvin, but it wasn’t bad. I loved the Great Gatsby inspired dresses- in reality, the collection was like a loud party under Jay Gatsby’s roof. Everything was kitschy and full of splendour… and what a bit suprised me, pretty warm as for Summer. But still, the collection was nothing spectacural, although cool. Very Lanvin!

Bad Gal. Emilio Pucci SS14

Slide1-kopia 2Peter Dundas said backstage the Emilio Pucci SS14 show that he was strongly inspired with the hottest musicians of the moment- he lately dressed for scene and day Rita Ora, Rihanna and Beyonce, that are all known for wearing dresses with sexy cuts, coloyrful prints and of course… a nice price tag. But this is not it. Peter Dundas simply copied Balmain and Tom Ford into his collection! Just look- the shiny jackets, printed parkas, luxury sportwear with sequins, super high heels, gowns with silver sleeves… These are just few things that are taken from Oliver Rousteing and Ford’s mind. And that’s pretty rude in fashion world. But… the collection was quite cool. The best thing were these rock ‘n roll hair styles on models and the closing by Malgosia Bela!

Nottingham. Burberry SS14

Slide1-kopia

“Nottingham, in the U.K.’s Midlands, was once the center of the world’s lace production. Now, there’s a sleeping giant waiting for Christopher Bailey to give it a good poke!” as wrote the Style.com about this very, very good collection of Burberry for SS14. Indeed, the use of British lace in this collection was a right shot from Christopher Bailey- lets say goodbye to sporty jackets, and welcome new Burberry, that is all about feminity and glamour! First of all, Harry Styles of One Direction was there in the front row, so he of course stole all spotlight… but because I don’t like 1D, I more feel like to write about the collection… Kept in pastel colours of pink and blue, beautiful laces mixed with embroideries and geometrical prints brought lots of sex appeal to the collection, and at the same time made it wearable… The look were Edie Campbell wears this blue pastel coat, a white lace dress and blue panties looked adorable! That was definitely one of the strongest collections of the season!
