Pastel Velvet Wonderland. Rochas AW16

FNC_2286

Alessandro Dell’AcQua‘s woman and his Rochas collection is pure, pure sweetness for the eye. The wide range of pastel colours, from pink to green, looked feminine and non-chalant when styled with contrasting ankle socks. Floral-embroidered slip dresses looked chic and not so banal with the lace shirts under. Also, this collection was an ode to velvet, Dell AcQua’s current obsession – unexpectedly, it looked extremely soft and frivolous, when worn with green fur coats and the season’s must-have high platform pumps. I adore this collection – and I can openly confess that it’s my favourite Rochas outing delivered by Alessandro to date (and already two years passed from his appointment)!

Pastel Life. Derek Lam AW15

_A2X0185

Pastels are always a good choice. In my opinion, Derek Lam is seriously underrated – he is a master of colour combination. He can easily mix unobvious camel with teal or rust with yellow, creating a simple, but interesting look. AW15 is one of the most genius collections Derek showed in his whole career – the way of wearing coats, the “whatever” mood brought by the XXL-sized sweatshirts and pantalons – created a smart and sophisticated collection which allows women to style their clothes however they want to. No big theme is imposed – it’s all about pastel-coloured basics!

Pink Blush!

Slide01

Who said that pink was only for Barbie dolls? For sure not the designers for Autumn-Winter 2013! This season was a pure pink colour explosion. From Miu Miu polka dot coats to Simone Rocha super cute pastel dresses, the runways were flowing with pink. But it wasn’t about just one shade of pink- there was the soft bluch (Dior), candyfloss (Roksanda Ilincic), pastel gingham (Prada), fierce fuchsia (Dries Van Noten) and many more types of pink prints, fabrics and furs. In other words, pink made a suprise appearance throughout the shows. So banich the black and bury the beige in your wardrobe! From now on girls, pink got words to say to the fashion world!
