Delicacy. Victoria Beckham SS18

Not that I don’t like pastels – but it feels like it’s a current plague in fashion, even though Victoria Beckham‘s usage of baby pink and pistachio green was far above the average. Although the first hints of Beckham’s spring-summer 2018 collection said ‘pastels’ out loud, there was much more to it. Beckham is getting even more and more into ‘slouchy’, abandoning her body-con dress past. Fluid skirts and over-sized shirts; big blazers and big pants. The most striking look was the most sophisticated one and it involved wearing a pencil skirt under a transparent kilt. “Delicacy can be strong,” she said before the show to her press. According to Beckham, delicacy is something more complex than just plain pastels – it’s the softness of the texture and the comfortable, everyday fit.

Macaron Pastels. Prada AW15

Oh, Miuccia. What have you done. This collection is unfortunately, one of the weakest for a long time. This was Miuccia Prada’s “Synthetic Fantasia”. Inside a series of macaron-shaded pistachio green and powder pink rooms connected with industrial grills, Miuccia explored themes that are different to her. What are our ideals of beauty? Are they real? What are the fine lines between fantasy and reality? What lies beneath a saccharine surface? These 50s-60s debutantes in all shades of pastel certainly had something cute about them. But… is it really what we need? Maybe it’s the fault of the styling. These ultra-long gloves and the horrible Geox-like stompers destroy everything. The ostrich leather, which I usually like, feels awkward with all that tweed. Definitely, that’s another vision of Prada. But not visions are always good. This one’s certainly too eye-catchy and twisted.

Men’s. Romantic. No.21 SS15

Alessandro Dell’Acqua of No.21 brought his womenswear classics to men, making the boys for summer romantic and sweet. Lace was worked for slim pants and shirts, tops and short pants in lightweight gingham fabrics were cut in fluid silhouettes and suits came in sorbet colors. These contrasted with the contemporary, skater-inspired feel of printed T-shirts and Neoprene color-blocked sweatshirts embossed with the No. 21 logo. This is the modern Milanese guy.

Granny Party. Miu Miu SS14

Miu Miu SS14 was presented in a beautiful way during the last day of Paris Fashion Week. The collection was something more sophisticated than Brazilian polka dots or cat prints- that was a fashionable grandma party in Miuccia Prada edition. Kept in pastel colours, delicate coats and a bit kitschy dresses in the knee lengths looked chic but at the same time elegant. Just like one of these ladies from Advanced Style blog, the collection was very mature, and a bit reminded of artistic Summer 2014 at Prada’s main line in Milan. Embroidered ball dresses looked perfect for a ballet or opera gala and the shoes… Oh i love Miu Miu always for it’s fantastic shoes! So fairy-tale! The younger label of Prada is mixing old with new chic, and the fashion month… Ended today. So, now lets only wait till the next March for AW14…

Nottingham. Burberry SS14

“Nottingham, in the U.K.’s Midlands, was once the center of the world’s lace production. Now, there’s a sleeping giant waiting for Christopher Bailey to give it a good poke!” as wrote the about this very, very good collection of Burberry for SS14. Indeed, the use of British lace in this collection was a right shot from Christopher Bailey- lets say goodbye to sporty jackets, and welcome new Burberry, that is all about feminity and glamour! First of all, Harry Styles of One Direction was there in the front row, so he of course stole all spotlight… but because I don’t like 1D, I more feel like to write about the collection… Kept in pastel colours of pink and blue, beautiful laces mixed with embroideries and geometrical prints brought lots of sex appeal to the collection, and at the same time made it wearable… The look were Edie Campbell wears this blue pastel coat, a white lace dress and blue panties looked adorable! That was definitely one of the strongest collections of the season!
