The Colombian designer and one of Antwerp’s brightest stars, Haider Ackermann, does this again. There is something unexplainable about his AW15 collection. Ackermann’s sensitivity with drape and textures is shown through every collection – but this time, he outdid himself. The variety of tweeds, flannels, felts, leathers and silks was so big and unexpectadely, looked great styled up together. The pirate jackets were all about bold checks and animal prints while the floor-sweeping skirts and coats created an ethereal atmosphere of Angelina Jolie in the Disney movie, Maleficent. Also, notice the details on the jackets – white stitches and safety spins were strong references to the lingering love of punk and rock & roll. These are modern clothes for women who love to spice up their dandy style. What can I say more? This slightly chaotic, decadent collection from AW15 Paris Fashion Week is the one I truly love the most.
Rock and Roll
Rock ‘n Chic. Saint Laurent SS14
That was the third Saint Laurent fashion show under the wings of Hedi Slimane, and it was… the best! I am still blown up after this collection that was presented in Grand Palais in Paris yesterday. On the entry, there was a big, LED lights installation that reminded of some abstract piece of art. And then the show begun of course with… Edie Campbell, with gloomy hairstyle and eye make-up. She wore a beautiful V-neck dress in black colour. Sexy and chic. Then the classical Yves Saint Laurent Le Smoking shown in a much more casual way. The collection wasn’t punk itself- it was very chic and elegant, but had a rock ‘n roll twist too. Stripes t-shirts, sequined jackets, sharp hair-cuts, over-large sleeves and lips/fire print on few mini dresses. Hedi definitely got mad with all these grunge boots from Winter, but certainly he did fell in love with socks under stilettos… I think this is one of the coolest trend, while most people are totally on NO when they see this. But in the Saint Laurent edition, it simply looked great. The SS14 collection by Saint laurent was definitely one of my favourite this season!

Rock It. Haider Ackermann SS14
Haider Ackermann showed his darker side in the SS14 collection is Paris. The seriously rock & roll aesthetics that were mixed with classical Haider fabrics and forms. I loved the body exposure in that collection and colour use! So David Bowie and Vogue Paris at the same time! It felt fresh but still real for this designer- all these dresses and metallic colours beautifull compnated with sexy shorts and transparent tops. One of the best collections to date from Mr. Ackermann!
Bad Gal. Emilio Pucci SS14
Peter Dundas said backstage the Emilio Pucci SS14 show that he was strongly inspired with the hottest musicians of the moment- he lately dressed for scene and day Rita Ora, Rihanna and Beyonce, that are all known for wearing dresses with sexy cuts, coloyrful prints and of course… a nice price tag. But this is not it. Peter Dundas simply copied Balmain and Tom Ford into his collection! Just look- the shiny jackets, printed parkas, luxury sportwear with sequins, super high heels, gowns with silver sleeves… These are just few things that are taken from Oliver Rousteing and Ford’s mind. And that’s pretty rude in fashion world. But… the collection was quite cool. The best thing were these rock ‘n roll hair styles on models and the closing by Malgosia Bela!
Anthony Vaccarello Skirt
“Crepe mini skirt, leather waistband with false belt detailing, inserts in macramé embroidery with metal eyelets, back zip closure. This fall-winter season Anthony Vaccarello displays a new take on his signature sexy rocker style. The collection displays clean, almost rigorous lines in a two-tone that includes only black and white. Sexy dresses, angora pullovers, masculine suits show leather and brass metal embellishments and sensual slits leaving little to the imagination. Fall-Winter collection 2013-14” This sexy Anthony Vaccarello skirt from Colette with price tag of 2000 euro is the season’s must have!
