Ciekocinko Palace

Let the Easter retreat begin! And what’s better than a country escape? This time, I chose Ciekocinko Palace, which is located in the Northern part of Poland. It took ten years for the owner to make it alive and beautiful again – wallpapers come straightly from San Francisco, the chimney are original remains of the 20’s while all of the furniture come from prestigious British auction houses. The hotel contains two amazing restaurants, which use local products and ingredients. I tell you, it’s so good – my favourite breakfast dish is the Kashubiam speciality: apple pancakes with natural sour cream. For dinner, I am a slay to the delicious tatar. If you ever come to Poland, visit this place – you will truly feel like a king (or queen) of a palace.

Milan Nights

image

Milan is a city which always makes me wonder… and it looks most gracious during the night time. You can observe peacefully gleaming shop windows, flickering neons and elegantly lightened streets. The people which go by, the pieces of art which are standing in the galleries. It all seems to be seductive and very Milano-like. If talking of evening eating, which I am good at, Paper Moon is the place where simple dishes taste better than in any fine restaurant. The penne pasta with rabbit raggu, the pizza al pastore, the parma ham with melon… and my favourite artichoke salad which is always perfectly fitted with few drops of lemon juice. Milan, you are an enchanting place.

Vintage. Creatures of The Wind Pre-Fall 2015

Creatures_of_the_Wind_01_1366

Creatures of The Wind always produce collections which are nostalgic, but in a nice, fresh way. For pre-fall 2015, boys of CoTW brought a cool air of vintage- grandma’s fur coat, fabrics brought from Asian countries, warm wool caftans that used to be your dad’s bath robe- all of that felt beautiful and very deep. Although many things in this collection seem to be very different, I bet nothing was random for the designers. Definitely, the most heart-breaking piece of this collection is the long sequined skirt with those blue elements- India, Myanmar? Or maybe something totally different? Surely that’s a long, warm story to tell. Simply, interpret this collection the way you want to.

Cracow: In the Evening

IMG_8593.JPG

Cracow, after my city, is the most beautiful place in Poland. It’s so romantic, so mesmerizing… and looks the best in the evening, when it’s old market and architecture feels gloomy, but proud and fine. I also truly love Cracow’s hidden gems- non-chalant stores full of Polish designers (Gosia Baczynska, Robert Kupisz & MMC Studio) and refined, but not too sophisticated restaurants which really offer a lot of yum. Here are my photos and more to come up soon!
