Vintage. Creatures of The Wind Pre-Fall 2015

Creatures_of_the_Wind_01_1366

Creatures of The Wind always produce collections which are nostalgic, but in a nice, fresh way. For pre-fall 2015, boys of CoTW brought a cool air of vintage- grandma’s fur coat, fabrics brought from Asian countries, warm wool caftans that used to be your dad’s bath robe- all of that felt beautiful and very deep. Although many things in this collection seem to be very different, I bet nothing was random for the designers. Definitely, the most heart-breaking piece of this collection is the long sequined skirt with those blue elements- India, Myanmar? Or maybe something totally different? Surely that’s a long, warm story to tell. Simply, interpret this collection the way you want to.

Cracow: In the Evening

IMG_8593.JPG

Cracow, after my city, is the most beautiful place in Poland. It’s so romantic, so mesmerizing… and looks the best in the evening, when it’s old market and architecture feels gloomy, but proud and fine. I also truly love Cracow’s hidden gems- non-chalant stores full of Polish designers (Gosia Baczynska, Robert Kupisz & MMC Studio) and refined, but not too sophisticated restaurants which really offer a lot of yum. Here are my photos and more to come up soon!

Belgium: A.F. Vandevorst

20140719-113714 PM-85034684.jpg

A.F. Vandevorst is a brand I knew before, but I have never been too interested in it. Until I visited Belgium. First of all, you need to know these two simple equation: A.F. = Filip Arickx, while Vandevorst = Ann Vandevorst. And these two are quiet, cool couple, which created a Belgian, red-crossed brand which may be easily spotted thanks to it’s characteristics. Over the years, the duo’s influences have ranged from S&M-tinged clinical uniforms (such as the SS 2007 nun habits, SS 2008 PVC trenchcoats, FW 2014 army cargo, and their signature red cross logo) to German artists such as Joseph Beuys and choreographer Pina Bausch, and a week spent with the Samburu tribe in Kenya (SS 2012). Looking at their archives, I am impressed- the brand is so sophisticated and interesting. But it always keeps it’s specific, dark-romance style.

Belgium: BRUGGE WALK

20140717-110022 AM-39622051.jpg

What to love about Brugge? For me, the fact that it’s the most romantic (sorry, Paris), elusive and charming place on Earth. You may walk through the 19th century built streets, feel the warmth of all the citizens and eat tones and tones of mussels and waffles everyday… as Brugge (and Belgium) has a lot of to offer, here is a little introduction with my photos of the favourite places in this beautiful city!
