Cai Guo-Qiang

Cai Guo-Qiang is the moment’s artist, whic uses fake animal figures in his monumental installations. His current exhibition called “Falling to Earth” happens at GOMA Art Gallery in Australia, and it’s situated in a huge, white space, where the only sound heard are water droplets falling down from the ceiling. Here, you might see wolves replicas flying in the air and a huge crystal blue pool, from which such animals like leopards, polar bears and tigers drink… “My idea of making this work is not to do any criticism or replication but to focus on what it means for sculptors to create realist sculptures in the time the work was created. …The end goal is not to make perfect sculptures and have them exhibited elsewhere and then have them collected somewhere. The key is to focus on the process of fabrication of these artworks, to pay attention to the process of the artists making these sculptures, rather than where these sculptures will end up and how they will look in the end.” said the New York based artist. Surely the idea has a very strong aim… what do you think of these a bit creepy installations?

Muse. Ellery Resort’15

20140617-073732 PM-70652480.jpg

The Sydney-based designer, Kym Ellery, does the most simple & sophisticated clothes at once. For her Resort 2015, she managed to make the clothes well fit for casual time and evening events! Ellery deployed her signature bell shapes with restraint, making a trumpet hem on cropped pants or fanning out the sleeves of a slinky boucle dress or cotton poplin shirt. Also, the spaghetti straps and V-cuts brought the collection a poetic attitude and mood. Ellery is for a long time one of my favourite Australian labels and I really enjoy it’s luxurious approach towards the modern evening-wear.

Perfect Chaos. Ellery SS15

Slide1-kopia 6Australian Fashion Week for SS15 have just started and here is my first favourite: Ellery. Ellery is designed by Kym Ellery which comes from Perth and currently designs and most influencial label from Australia. It has in it’s account avant-garde, girlie dresses, flattering skirts and some seriously cool shoes… Ellery’s SS15 is kept in white tones- it’s full of cool tops and sporty pieces like sweatpants or easy gowns. The models wore piercing and chains on their faces, making a perfect chaos between these beautiful, peaceful clothes and the punk attitude… Looking at it, I would love to go on the Iceberg Pool that is at the famous Bondi Beach!952073-1_l952077-1_l952089-1_l952105-1_l952109-1_l952121-1_l
