The Prada AW14 collection was a real example of avant-garde fashion. With Barbara Sukova’s life performance accompanied by real orchestra as a show tune, collection was presented in a dark Milanese garage… And, possibly, that was one of the most wearable collections for season at Prada. The colour palette and prints shouting loud 30’s & 70’s, amazing monkey fur dress which looked like a ‘body, chained shoulder bags, architectonic heels and heavy sweaters worn over flawless sheer skirts look fantastic. Miuccia Prada is on the concept of timeless, but artsy clothing, that will never be out of fashion. In reality, these clothes will always look good and luxury! Opposing the colourful SS14, this collection in result became a little bit more toned, darker. But coming back to basics is never a bad idea. And if it is Miuccia who “rules the rules”- then nobody can say “no”.
Milan
Karlito. Fendi AW14
Little KARLITO and Fendi Dromes where the show’s biggest affairs. First of all, KARLITO is a small Karl muppet made out of fur, and since next season you will wear it everywhere, just like Cara Delevigne on the runway. Fendi Dromes were… well, something, that was meant to be cool. It was flying around during the show, live-streaming the event on Fendi web-site. Woow… Talking of the collection, it was nice, but no craze about it. Fur, brown colour palette, fur, flattering skirts and orchidees (were they real?!). Surely nothing spectacular, but a lot of pieces are a WANT. For example the parka with furry elements or the boots that were rocked by Joan Smalls.

Beautiful. No21 AW14
The reason to love Allesandro Dell Acqua’s No.21 collections? Simple answear- they are made to wear. And this is the secret of his AW14 collection, that is fabulous. Full of brocade, tomboy chic, pointy flats and lovely fur, the collection gets my thumbs up. And the perfect look is the one with chunky knitted sweater with a sheer skirt under- it’s very lady-like, but at the same time effortless. More of this type outfits are warmly welcomed on the streets!

Frida is Back! Gucci AW14
Gucci’s Frida Gianini surely emerges again from deep, boring fashion into bright land of cool Milanese legacy! No wonder why- this collection is a highlight in her career. The Gucci Jet-Set from 60’s is having a pastel comeback; Twiggy and shoes-made-to-walk are welcomed; and it’s so, so fantastic. The colours (this green is to die for!) and shaggy furs look like clouds… The evening leather dresses with crystals are also overhelming. This is a very warm (and comfortable) way to start MFW!

Harlem Renaissance
Miuccia Prada is known for ages in the fashion industry not only for her artistic approach, but also for… great events. As part of Prada’s The Iconoclast series, W’s fashion and style director Edward Enninful reimagined the windows of the Prada stores on Milan’s Via Monte Napoleone. Inspired by the Harlem Renaissance theme, Edward dresses the black & white mannequins in a combination of Prada’s SS14 designs and archivial pieces. Result? All is glittering, very 20’s and it’s oh-so jazzy!
