Coo-ee Couture. Romance Was Born SS15

512x768-ROMANCE-WAS-BORN301

A bit Meadham Kirchhoff, a bit Schiaparelli – the Aussie brand, Romance Was Born took us to a wonder-land of diversity and nature. But in their signature, splendour style. That’s why their collection for summer is called “Coo-ee Couture”. Fearless design duo Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales didn’t disappoint. The eye-catchy collection is the result of Romance Was Born’s collaboration with artist, fashion designer and fellow free spirit Linda Jackson, who hand-painted each garment for the show. The intense jewel-toned dresses, mixed prints – including a striking beaded “Waratah “design – bold texture and glossy black plummage were accessorised by bright ceramic jewellery from the Australian label, Dinosaur Designs. If people in Australia are so easy-going with coo-coo fashion, then I love it!

Objects of Desire

I am in love with the brand I am going to present you now – it’s Crista Seya. I mean, there are many labels which perfectly mix minimal with luxury. The Row, Lemaire, Hermes are all known to us! But surely, Crista Seya might be counted to that list. Her collections are divided in four editions, and in each the clothes are constantly available on request. Beautifully tailored shirts, awesome camel pantaloons and khaki ponchos – a dream. The white shoes from series 3 (a lot of normcore beige) are handmade in Buenos Aires, made from so-called kid leather and a cool “cut-out-edge” heel. The clothes from Crista Seya are fulfilled with everyday objects. Artisan vases, leather horse-necklaces, hand-dyed cushions. I mean, what’s better than a label which knows how to make your wardrobe and your home?

Ciekocinko Palace

Let the Easter retreat begin! And what’s better than a country escape? This time, I chose Ciekocinko Palace, which is located in the Northern part of Poland. It took ten years for the owner to make it alive and beautiful again – wallpapers come straightly from San Francisco, the chimney are original remains of the 20’s while all of the furniture come from prestigious British auction houses. The hotel contains two amazing restaurants, which use local products and ingredients. I tell you, it’s so good – my favourite breakfast dish is the Kashubiam speciality: apple pancakes with natural sour cream. For dinner, I am a slay to the delicious tatar. If you ever come to Poland, visit this place – you will truly feel like a king (or queen) of a palace.

Threads Fun. Ace & Jig AW15

Ace & Jig is a brand which looks forward to artisanal threads and interesting textiles. For their AW15 collection, Cary and Jenna collaborated with Caroline Kaufman – bold, knitted scarves with pompons and chunky, fluffy cardigans were introduced, contrasting with delicate cottons. Also, over-sized skirts and coats appeared, creating a pilgrim-like mood, worn with these gorgeous hats. I am happy tis all-American label starts to have it’s signature style on fleek (yes, on FLEEK).
