Milan: BULGARI, the Eternity.

So, here I am after some Dolce Vita in Tuscany in the buzzing fashion and design city of Milano! My hotel (SOON) is very much connected to that jewellery label that I will shortly introduce you in this post! Bulgari is known to most people only from one side- the high price. But forgetting of the shopping part, history of Bulgari can be discovered by everyone!
It all started in 1884 when Sotirio Bulgari opened a large boutique called with his name on Via Condotti in Rome. The brand had many crisises, but within the time it was spreading all over the country and then Europe.

After sometime, big super stars came to be wearing the most luxurious products- clients like Marilyn Monroe, Veruschka, Grace Jones and Elizabeth Taylor (that played Cleopatra in Bulgari jewels!) wore Bulgari everyday and on every event. The famous girdle in the shape of a serpent was commissioned by Diana Vreeland, the eccentric Vogue US fashion editor who was known for wearing oversized clothes. Well, these surrealistic pearls were totally into her awesome style!

The biggest ever made diamond at Bulgari had 66 carats and was given as a present to Elizabeth Taylor, a many year face of the brand. Well, it was really big, and for sure made lots of thieves interested… So, after many years of hard work of Bulgari and catching an eye of clients, it got it’s new boutique on jewellery kingdom- Place Vendome in Paris, next to Tiffany & Co., Cartier and Van Cleef Arpels.

Tuscany: Fausto Puglisi X Ungaro

I am crazy in love with Emanuel Ungaro by Fausto Puglissi at the current moment! While you live in Italy for two weeks, you are like getting the idea of kitsch in fashion- Dolce Gabbana is all about tradition; Moschino is aristocracy; Prada is the new modernity; and Fausto Puglisi is a new comer of Italian fashion that is really messing around with his punk checks, embellished caps and leopard printed sexy dresses that are favourites of Coco Rocha. I was long observing this young designer, and after seeing the AW13 collection for dying label, Ungaro, I feel he, and few more young Italian designers will be leading the next era in Milan fashion! As I wrote, Emanuel Ungaro for a period of time s really dying. About a Lindsay Lohan catastrophy and lost of Avenue Montaigne boutique in Paris, this label needs a rescue boat in killing fashion world… So here it is- Puglisi!
As you see, the pieces I saw in the showroom here in Tuscany look very exciting and sexy… The prints, golden embroideries, in other words luxury! Fausto Puglisi is the name that is certainly one to watch, and Ungaro will again shock the world! 😄😄😄

Here something more about this talented designer! “Fausto Puglisi was born in Messina and started his carreer exporting his talent to the USA. When he was eighteen, he moved to New York and started collaborating with worldwide known stylists and photographers. His outfits gained great success and many Hollywood celebrities have been dressing Fausto Puglisi outfits at the most important events. Fausto Puglisi loves visual culture. He is inspired by the mix between the high culture and popular elements and the result is a really complex brand identity: heroic Sicily, Italian neo-realism movies, American star system, Roman gladiators, modern architecture and the richness of the Mediterranean Baroque. His geometric creations express a rich and defined style, focusing on color contrasts and embroideries research. His clothes embody an ideal of beauty based on strength, to design a contemporary glamour. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana appreciate Fausto Puglisi’s talent and asked him to be part of their “Young Designers” project, that gave him a great visibility inside their concept store Spiga2 in Milan. Munich: Gold Rush!

The AW13 Prada collection is beautiful, but I didn’t thought that it so to that level! In the Munich Prada store I was really shocked with the beauty of the shows, coats, furs and dresses. Everything is so fragile and girly… The must haves for sure are the runway heels, and plaid skirt and a green runway jacket that looked really fantastic! And the men’s boots…

Louis Vuitton also has some golden treats for everyone! Their Dinosaur window displays are all in gold, and are really mind blowing! The pre-fall collection presented on the mannequins had it’s spotlight totally stolen by these big decorations!

Berlin: The Celine Pre-Fall

In the new Celine section in Kadewe, Berlin, the Pre-Fall collection arrived. Well, should say that on pictures all these clothes and shoes look real good- but live- and mostly the shoes!- it all looks horrible. First of all, the lacquered shoes with gold plate on it are very hard. The plate is additionally removable, and it looks like a typical men’s shoes! The black/white wedges are also a tragedy! The rubber wedge is made definitely from a tire or something because the odour from it is saw disgusting! The only cool thing was the thatched hat from the collection that is made in France! It is saw French! And stylish! But still, very not practical.
