What I enjoy about Christopher Kane is the fact that he can’t be tamed. Alhough he belongs to Kering group, he doesn’t hide his talent just to be more commercial. The new Resort 2015 collection is mix of his favourite things: lace, floral prints, denim and neon colours. The dresses were radiant and artsy while the pockets of jeans shorts & trousers were embroidered with beautiful flowers and insects. If talking of jewellery that’s pretty new at Kane, we had these little daisy shaped brooches that felt very childish and naive… just like the overall collection. There was also about hippie and the 60’s in here: this flower power brings peace and harmony, for goodness sake.
Love
Sweet Dreams. No.21 Resort’15
Allesandro Dell’ Acqua is now the man behind two brands. First is his No.21, based in Milan and the second one is Rochas- based in Paris. And he makes it really, really fine! The new collection for No.21 was all about cute prints and sweet words like Darling that made the overall result very girlie and feminine. I truly fell in love with all these floral prints a la Marni and gorgeous polished bags with huge No.21 written over it. This is going to be a really lovely spring, I assume…
Pop It! Moschino Resort’15
I am worried. Jeremy Scott is cool and popped-up but I am scared that more than 10 different ideas in on RESORT collection is too much. Reminding his first Moschino AW14 show that was really all about McDonalds, now we may choose from Pepsi logo dresses to bandana bras and cute cupcake jackets. I pretty much like the collection (“Shirt happens!” is my favourite outfit…) but if Jeremy won’t slow down the tempo, he might get out of ideas. Although it’s guaranteed that everybody is going to wear one of these fun t-shirts or sexy MOSCHINO underwear. Plus, thumbs up for Charlotte Free as a model!
Party All Night. Marc Jacobs Resort’15
Showing his collection in an old Manhattan townhouse, it’s visible that Marc is somewhere between relax and parting. His AW14 was so relaxed and the Resort’15 is a total contrast- the models like Waleska Gorczevski or Esmeralda Reynolds presented printed, colourful party dresses full of sexy embroideries and Victoriana flowers. We could also notice the ethernal sequined mini-skirt a la Dolly Parton and the 60’s inspired patterns of flowers and other Marc-like things.”People getting dressed up, going out. Happy, lively,” offered Jacobs’ design director, Joseph Carter, when he was asked for a few words backstage. In other words, thanks to the sparkle and bliss, Marc Jacobs got our New Year Eve dresses all sorted up. Personally, I love this collection… as usual in case of MJ (and these fur cuties got me!).
Furry Furs. Sacai AW14
The furs were furrier, collars stood up higher, and the trompe l’oeil twists were even more head-spinning than usual. That was how Sacai for AW14 felt like. And, yes, it was fantastic. Those amazing winter jackets with som much fur and leather! Everything felt soft and at the same time sharp and vibrant… This aviator jacket with over-sized shirling worn by Edie Campbell is a wish for winter skiing blast. And those boots… those flattering skirts… it was all fantastic. Surely my favourite collection of season, if talking of perfect ski-in-style time…
