The Prada AW14 collection was a real example of avant-garde fashion. With Barbara Sukova’s life performance accompanied by real orchestra as a show tune, collection was presented in a dark Milanese garage… And, possibly, that was one of the most wearable collections for season at Prada. The colour palette and prints shouting loud 30’s & 70’s, amazing monkey fur dress which looked like a ‘body, chained shoulder bags, architectonic heels and heavy sweaters worn over flawless sheer skirts look fantastic. Miuccia Prada is on the concept of timeless, but artsy clothing, that will never be out of fashion. In reality, these clothes will always look good and luxury! Opposing the colourful SS14, this collection in result became a little bit more toned, darker. But coming back to basics is never a bad idea. And if it is Miuccia who “rules the rules”- then nobody can say “no”.

Frida is Back! Gucci AW14
Gucci’s Frida Gianini surely emerges again from deep, boring fashion into bright land of cool Milanese legacy! No wonder why- this collection is a highlight in her career. The Gucci Jet-Set from 60’s is having a pastel comeback; Twiggy and shoes-made-to-walk are welcomed; and it’s so, so fantastic. The colours (this green is to die for!) and shaggy furs look like clouds… The evening leather dresses with crystals are also overhelming. This is a very warm (and comfortable) way to start MFW!

Happy Days. Marc Jacobs AW14
As always for the end of NYFW, Marc Jacobs serves us all something that nobody really thought about. First of all, the setting- clouds that looked like fluffy little lambs, hung over the runway, and the guests sat on mushroom stools. Feels very psychedelic and relaxing. The soundtrack of this final New York collection was the endlessly repeated phrase “Happy Days are here again”.
Yes? So why the models had their faces so pale and hair so straight and rounded? So solemn… “After last season with all this Victoriana theme, all that black and heaviness, we wanted something light and calm- a cosmetic neutral palette colouring their hair and faces, and with women we respected” said Marc Jacobs at the backstage of the show. This collection was also one of the most important- it’s his first, independent collection without designing for Louis Vuitton and Marc by Marc Jacobs (that is now under Luella Bartley’s and Katie Hillier’s wings).
His women, solemn and fragile, reminded me of younger Michelle Pfeiffer and Barbra Streisand style- straight lines on minimalistic, pastel dresses, small boots, pin thin pants. Neutral colours were touched with sweet thanks to apricot coloured fur bomber jackets. And everything seemed to be very wearable…
What’s good (and makes me indeed happy) is that Marc Jacobs continues his surrealistic aesthetics and isn’t scared to have fun with fashion. The AW14 was a future statement- are the happy days coming up?
Paris: Always Together at Le Galliera

Between the walls of the adorable building of Musee Galliera in Paris, I met this couple- she, dressed in black, and him, dressed in black (and a lovely fur colour I am envy about!). Both in hats. This lovely couple definitely got something about them- their attitude to dress how they feel, making a perfect match. Here are some snaps from Musee Galliera where the Alaia exhibition took place- soon more to come!
Celine Sneaks
Phoebe Philo debuted sport-shoes for her SS14 collection. Her LOVE LIFE sneakers are so… AMAZING! Love it too bad. Definitely, when these will hit the stores, everybody will run to Celine. They look really comfortable and easy to wear on the go- they will match a dress, skinny jeans or even a midi skirt! And they are very Phoebe- the designer of Celine always wear sneakers!
