Daily Delights. Rosie Assoulin AW18

Slide1-kopia 5

While for the past seasons, Rosie Assoulin earned a reputation of New York’s best place to shop for unpretentious eveningwear, the designer focused a bit more on daywear this time. And especially, outerwear, which is just a delight. The marble print – Rosie’s current obsession fuelled by a newly found book on marbling techniques – looked equally great on the reversible jackets, as on the pants in scarf-like silk. Tailoring is also a brand new area for Assoulin, but she manages to pull it off in a distinctly bold way (see the blue suit!). Flares are back, stronger than ever. But this wouldn’t be a Rosie Assoulin collection, if there were no dresses. From more day-to-day options to red-carpet spotlight stealers (that sculptural, micro-pleated gown), it’s impossible not to be mesmerised. Or even, enchanted!

Acne Studios Bento Box

6a00e5508e95a9883301901f0202d5970b-700wiThis funny piece from AW13 Acne Studios collection is not a kind of a modern house decoration. And it’s not a Japanese snack box. It is a clutch! But what kind of a clutch- it looks like made from marble, has a cool emoji sign or Acne’s Stockholm store address and has a mirrored inside interior! You shall fit there everything and anthing, and it’s a “living” piece of modernism in conceptual fashion! Love it!

Berlin: Saint Laurent Boutique

20130726-090035 PM.jpg
As Hedi Slimane evolualize Saint Laurent, all the stores worldwide were totally refurnished. Now, all the spaces of that luxurious French house are all in marble and mirrors that I simply love! It’s just the rock and roll aesthetic of Hedi! Simple, minimalistic, but with balls. And the clothes that supply this store in Berlin… Oh my! Thanks to Hedi Slimane I love Mohair! The striped sweaters are really cool… And all these biker jackets! And grunge boots! Aww. ❤❤❤

Berlin: The Celine Pre-Fall

20130726-102559 AM.jpg
In the new Celine section in Kadewe, Berlin, the Pre-Fall collection arrived. Well, should say that on pictures all these clothes and shoes look real good- but live- and mostly the shoes!- it all looks horrible. First of all, the lacquered shoes with gold plate on it are very hard. The plate is additionally removable, and it looks like a typical men’s shoes! The black/white wedges are also a tragedy! The rubber wedge is made definitely from a tire or something because the odour from it is saw disgusting! The only cool thing was the thatched hat from the collection that is made in France! It is saw French! And stylish! But still, very not practical.

Fall Eruptions

20130610-073119 AM.jpg

In Paris, one of the minor, but still sharp trend for Fall AW13, is marble. It was presented by Balenciaga and Celine- both of them showed in pretty cool perspectives. Balenciaga by Alexander Wang mixed the marble theme with modernity and archival Cristobal Balenciaga look. The “crispy” sweatshirt that Malgosia Bela wears, at the beginning looks like real marble but in reality it is… Leather accompanied with white paint! I am a anti fan of Wang at Balenciaga, but this is indeed, an innovative idea!

Celine by Phoebe Philo definetly was better- maybe less spectacular, but much more simple and practical. These were small bracelets and necklaces with green marble spheres in the front! Sounds very simple, but it do look cool! Marble was also there in Pre-Fall- looking a bit vintage with gold. And here we can choose from green and ombre marble!
