AW14 for Alexander Wang meant a big fuss. First of all, the runway happened not as usually at the Lincoln Centre, but in Brooklyn. And second of all, the guests and models of the show didn’t arrive to the show by a casual taxi cab but… With a boat taxi! That was surely cool. After the whole buzz, the show began. And that was possibly the best show to date created by Wang. That was like a huge BANG-BANG! First the models went down the runway in tailored masculine jackets and high, rubber boots. Later, neon colours thrilled threw the knitwear, sporty coats and hyper-cool bags. With illuminating light swirling on the runway, the top models (Karlie, Natasha, Joan, etc.) having bleached eyebrows wore radiant coloured leather lace tops and dresses. Everything looked out of this world… Fast, energetic, cool, fun. The real spirit of New York. I LOVE THAT.
New York
Unexpected. Victoria Beckham AW14

No more heels. No sharp forms. Get slouchy. Feel good. These are the new statements of the new Victoria Beckham. Her collection for Fall was so unexpected… Getting used to high heels, cocktail dresses and sharp coats, this slouchy collection full of prints (!), shirts and tomboy flats made us all fall down from our chairs. These are definitely clothes to wear everyday: the coat with trousers to work, printed blouse for a lunch and loose black dress with a chain element for elegant event. And this white coat that was the first look is too perfect to be good. It’s all about good taste and chic that Victoria brings to us every season… But this time, in a fresh perspective.
Coven Girls. Tibi AW14
Tibi is my moment’s favourite “affordable” label. It’s crush is all about comfortable clothes for everyday. The AW14 was a bit of coven witches – long black coats styled with black boleros. But not only black was present here… Also, the lovely pastel blue which made all fluffy coats and fur trimmed mules look awesome. The effortless causality that Tibi presents is… TIBIshly cool.
Inspire. Altuzarra AW14

It’s not the first time that Joseph Altuzarra takes inspirations from Celine’s Phoebe Philo. But the AW14 is critically close to the “copying” boundary. Seriously- see Celine’s SS14 collection, and then compare it with Altuzarra’s AW14. The collection of the New Yorker is a bit more toned and elegant, without the vibrant craziness and artistic touch… But. Me, saying that the collection is a bit too “inspired”, doesn’t mean I dislike it. I love the jewellery (again, note Celine!), the rug texture tops and signature femme fatale Altuzarra dresses and interesting accessories… But overally nothing new this season. Although, the make-up looks are great with these radiant colours!
Nepal Winter. Prabal Gurung AW14
Prabal Gurung, one of the hottest names in New York, surely brings as some Asian culture this season. In reality, the original inspiration that ruled in here, was found in the place, where Prabal’s parents came from- Nepal. After his last trip to his home-country, Gurung brought so many new ideas… No wonder why the collection was all about orange tunics that are worn by Himalayan monks! They were buzzing around on whole Instagram… But still, although the collection was a bit out of old route of the designer, some signature touch was here- sweaters styled with wispy chiffon skirts and of course the red carpet gowns kept in warm, red colours. “It’s one of the last remaining Shangri-Las” he said of his beautiful country. Surely it is, looking at these fantastic clothes.
