Urban Jungle. Tibi SS14

On the third day of New York Fashion Week, I can say, that the designers calmed down after last year’s colour splash and print madness! Tibi SS14 is the best example of that. This New York based label that prices are very affordable didn’t really shock, but it did really remind as all about Summer paradise! The green jumpsuits, kaleidoscopic jungle prints and comfortable sandals were the right shot for next season. There were also these minimalistic leather black jackets, over-large safari trousers and the beloved orange dress- so light and perfect for beach… Summer, comeback, please! 💚🌴💚🌴💚🌴 P.S. I love this season in New York!

Hand Painted Majesty

20130824-071259 PM.jpg
Holly Fowler is a name to watch in London fashion scene- this girl has something really fresh and at the same time traditional to offer! To be clear. Holly is not doing prints, trench coats, Tartan plaids nor feather and high tech innovations. It’s all about… Hand-painted dresses! Sounds kind of stereotypical, but it looks so refreshing and new! The painted frescos on long minimalistic dresses, leather jackets and skirts look fantastic with their strong colours! Fowler also did to big collaborations- one with bags and dresses for Browns London, where a simple leather bag had a realistic print, and second one for Bergdof Goodman in New York! Really, the effect is mesmerising. This is real fashion- it really feels new, but it is still something wearable and at the same time at level of haute couture… In pretty affordable prizes! 20130824-073054 PM.jpg20130824-073105 PM.jpg20130824-073118 PM.jpg20130824-073154 PM.jpg

Tuscany: Badia a Passignano

20130814-111529 PM.jpg
The beautiful little town of Badia a Passigno is supplied if three things- one beautiful mens monastery of Benedictans, and two restaurants (SOON!). Surrounded with large grape fields and dozens of palaces and wineries, the town, that is very not touristic, but warm and delicious, keeps secrets from the ancient times till nowadays! Here is what Lena wore: Mary Katrantzou dress, Celine bag, Balenciaga sandals, Shourouk bracelet and Thom Browne sunglasses.

If Mendini was REI.

zdjęcie 2

Yesterday in the evening I was viewing my old photographs from New York, just you know, for pleasure. But pleasure changed into inspiration. I found a small pic of a Mendini sculpture that is located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The colors, shape just stunned me. I was like, Oh my this Alessandro Mendini things is amazing. I took out my book about this designer that I bought in NY, and was like again, Oh my this is incredible. Yes, Alessandro Mendini is a amazing designer from Italy, that was not designing anything functional but just beautiful and experimental. He used some extraordinary creatures on his furniture and strong colors everywhere! He was bored with our grey existence, and decided to do something nobody else before. But, now, you for sure ask a question, why is a Comme des Garcons AW13 show snap doing on this post? Because my quirky imagination thought of this crazy collection and Mendini’s designs together! Rei Kawabuko is Comme des Garcons designer from the beginning, and her clothes are like a origami- always aesthetic and sophisticated. This season was about making a mascuine jacket an origami. Sounds strange. But as you see, looks great! And the prints plus forms are so similar to Mendini’s! Wow!
