Traveler. Creature of The Wind SS15

IMG_7382.JPG

What I always love about Creatures of The Wind is their fresh view at slightly kitsch prints and patterns. This time, they made the granny floral curtain look not excessive, but rather simple and delicate- this print was used on the coats and even on the bras. We also had some intereting embellishments and stripes, shown in over-sized pants and tops. Full of funny fringes, traveler jackets and “the perfect escape” oriental smokings / pajamas, this beautiful collection is what I would surely want to see on lazy beach vacations somewhere on Bali or Biarritz!

These photos from Australia are by the lovely Kinga Burza.

In Italy

20140615-133929-49169741.jpg
As you might have noticed, I was absent for a while on my blog (except the What’s Hot posts)… Why? I am now in Italy and I just felt like taking a break from everything. But now I am again full of power and energy, so I am ready for the Resort’15 and SS15 show reviews… for a good, fresh start, here are some of my facourite pics from Venice, Florence and Verona!

Coool. Piece d’Anarchive SS14

Slide1-kopia 4 French art students learn about Jean Pierre Raynaud at school. He was the conceptualist who spent 25 years building his house, only to decide it was too perfect and, in 1993, tear it to bits. Piece d’Anarchive, the fresh label coming straight from Paris, is a buzzy, loudly printed and cool vibed brand, that’s pretty new in fashion world. Their first real collection happened last season, and their second is up here, for Spring. Piece d’Anarchive designs for men and women, and their look-books make me want everything! The new collection is inspired with famous monochrome prints that were created by Jean Pierre Raynaud. Shorts, dresses, shoes (!), tshirts… everything is in black & white checks. The womenswear looks really hot and cool, and menswear is simply omething I want for a Christmas present! Just look at these trousers and sweatshirts! Love it! Sharp Cut Minimalism

20131115-090151 AM.jpg

The SS14 by Victoria Beckham has it’s own, minimalistic mood, that I truly love. And by saying minimalism, I don’t mean the one that is presented at Celine or Jil Sander- Victoria, throughout the seasons sculpted her own style vision, that she’s devoted to in every collection and her everyday style. Kept in mostly black & white colours, the fuxia bright truss patterns on the shirts and skirts simply took all the brave away in the middle of the show. The jackets, bags and shoes looked all pretty comfortable, while the whole collection had it’s architectural, sharp cut in it. Victoria Beckham’s SS14 is a collection by strong women, who mixes work and family in a great style. By the way- the opening of the show was amazing- thanks to Edie Campbell, and the beautiful white-jacket-black-trousers outfit she wore!

Printed Girl: Helen Bullock

20131107-114151 AM.jpg
Helen Bullock, coming from London’s Central Saint Martins, is a textile and fashion designer whose works and illustrations were published on Dazed Digital, I-D and Vogue throughout the seasons. Using strong silhouettes as a platform for bold prints of a visceral nature, her Summer 2014 collection is simply amazing. With sharp cuts, strong colours and interesting textiles, Bullock is a designer whose name can’t be forgot. “Helen’s work is full of vibrance, energy and spirit. Her clothes radiate a sense of confidence, both in proportion and application of line. She is a true creative force, and produces work with a beautiful timeless quality” as said Julie Verhoeven, a supporter of Helen’s work. Together with the beautiful model Frances Rose Knee and photographer Chloe Oretice, the look book for SS14 is full of structured tank-tops and patterns that we really love. Hopefully, soon, we will hear even more of Helen Bullock!
