December 3: Miuccia Prada owned the AW14 season at Prada with her melancholic collection kept in tune of Barbara Sukova’s orchestra and 70’s nostalgia vibe.

Ace & Jig
What is Ace & Jig? When I first heard that simple, catchy name I knew from the beginning that it’s going to be cozy and cute. And I wasn’t mistaken. The designers, Jenna Wilson and Cary Vaughan, constantly bring new ideas to their New York-based label. They make winters be all about ponchos while summers feel the seaside notions and slightly hippie vibes. Material is Ace & Jig’s first love and to see them using traditional mills in India for making and dyeing their lovely textiles sounds great. For summer 2015, the duo gives as a flashback at pajamas craze of the 20’s, marine stripes and sailor pants with suspenders. The ease of those pieces, the mood the designers bring and the relaxing styling the look-book has makes me really want summer comeback. Those hand-embroidered caftans and signature checked shirts surely will deliver a warm ray of sun to your wardrobe. To end up this warm post, I truly recommend yout to follow their new account on Instagram! aceandjig.com
Cracow: In the Evening
Cracow, after my city, is the most beautiful place in Poland. It’s so romantic, so mesmerizing… and looks the best in the evening, when it’s old market and architecture feels gloomy, but proud and fine. I also truly love Cracow’s hidden gems- non-chalant stores full of Polish designers (Gosia Baczynska, Robert Kupisz & MMC Studio) and refined, but not too sophisticated restaurants which really offer a lot of yum. Here are my photos and more to come up soon!
This is Paper
I am constantly discovering new Polish brands which create and produce unique, innovative and beautiful pieces of daily use. This time, I met the Warsaw-based label THIS IS PAPER, which first started with 100% ecologically-made bags and rucksacks, and now is all based on very various items. From knitwear to garden tools and from “raw” homeware to printed magazines, the brand keeps it’s fresh, but simple, high quality level. They create objects which are lasting, keep on being sustainable and well-designed. Launched in 2013 by Aleksander and Zuzanna, the project values timeless over trendy, plain over fancy and less over more. In response to that, THIS IS PAPER decided to curate an online collection of objects that they would be proud to own, designing and collecting items which are made from natural resources. Some of the products they source are from manufacturers and craftsmen in Poland. Others are designed and manufactured by their studio itself, by hand, at THIS IS PAPER Warsaw studio. All of them are made with respect for the Earth’s scarce resources and little concern for passing trends. More on thisispapershop.com
And here are my favourite objects from their appealing on-line store…
In the Stars
Something a little offbeat always happens in Mona Kowalska’s A Détacher collection. And it’s a welcome weirdness. A few days before her Spring show, Kowalska spoke about an Italo Calvino quote that resonated with her: “‘Childhood boredom is a special kind of boredom.’ It leads to this world of fantasy, daydreams, and innocent fun,” said Kowalska. But my favourite thing about the show was the make-up. Tiny, shiny stars were sticked to model’s chins, creative a naive, infantile mood. This one might really cheer up your day!
