I discovered, that the best restaurants in Biarritz, are those that don’t look like the best ones. For example Cafe Jean that is next to the market (fr. Les Halles). The chef is from Spain and the cuisine is basque. But the food there is so delicious… We decided to make a selection of everything what is new to us. For first we ordered two plates of Jambon Iberico and Salchicon. Maybe the second one might look not to good, but believe me it is good. Then we’ve got Rillete du Canard. A kind of a pate, but with bigger pieces of meat and made out from duck. There was also Bacalao, tomate et pimiente. So, a piece of fish in a super hot sauce from red pepper. Mind blowing. Oh, and those Saint Jacques mussels were so yummy… I nearly forgot about the Gambas Shrimp Tempura…
Ok, now lets go to the dessert. A delicious tiramisu with raspberries and homemade creme brulle (you need to know, that I am a big fan of Creme Brulle!) were served. And also tarte tatin ( an fried apple on french crepe with vanilla ice cream). Those were by now the best desserts!
Also the waiters were really kind and nice to us.
